Spotlight Call Notes: Intuitive Surgical Req#ISIJP00012158 UI/Human Factors Engineer 4 HM: Reema Bhavnani Pay Rate: $95/HR W2, Locations: Remote 100% Remote Project Duration: 12 Months Contract - Possible full-time conversion if performance is strong No of Position: 1 Interview Process: 2 Rounds This is a 100% remote role but Needs ability to travel to Atlanta, GA for summative usability studies (about 3 weeks of studies in Oct–Nov, in and out as needed) and Sunnyvale – likely 1 trip for product training. (Travel exp will be covered by ISI). Open to candidates from any US location / time zone, as long as: They can travel for Sunnyvale + Atlanta and they can provide 4–6 hours of overlap with the core team’s working hours. This role is execution-heavy on HF validation work. Draft and write human factors study protocols (for summative / validation studies) MUST HAVE SKILLS: Human Factors in Medical Devices (Non-Negotiable) - Strong, hands‑on human factors engineering experience specifically in medical device development. Summative (Validation) HF Study Experience - Proven track record executing summative/validation studies Regulatory & Standards Knowledge FDA, IEC 62366, Experience contributing HF inputs into 510(k) submissions. Volume & Depth of HF Work – Manager will be watching - volume of studies done, so Candidates should have multiple completed HF studies , especially summative. At least 5+ years of industry experience in Human factors / usability engineering / user research for medical devices. Candidates with much more experience (e.g., 10–20 years), as long as they’re interested in a contract role and are hands‑on with validation work.
