About the role
We're looking for a hands-on IT Administrator to keep our Microsoft 365 environment secure and our people productive. You'll support a hybrid team across London and remote locations, on both Windows and macOS devices.
Day to day, you'll look after user accounts and access, Exchange Online, device management through Intune and Apple Business Manager, and first- and second-line support. You'll work closely with the wider IT function on security, compliance and process improvement.
This role suits someone with a solid Microsoft 365 grounding who wants to grow. We'll support your learning, including Microsoft certifications.
Key responsibilities
Microsoft 365 administration
- Manage the Microsoft 365 tenant: users, groups, licences and admin roles
- Administer Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive, including permissions, sites and sharing policies
- Monitor service health, message centre updates and upcoming changes, and assess impact on users
Exchange Online
- Manage mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists and calendar resources
- Configure mail flow rules, connectors and retention policies
- Support email security, including anti-spam and anti-phishing policies and SPF, DKIM and DMARC
- Investigate delivery issues using message trace and quarantine
Azure / Microsoft Entra ID
- Manage identities, security groups and guest access in Entra ID
- Maintain Conditional Access policies, MFA and self-service password reset
- Support app registrations, enterprise applications and single sign-on (SSO) integrations
- Review sign-in and audit logs to spot and resolve access issues
Intune and Apple Business Manager
- Enrol and manage Windows and macOS devices through Intune, including Windows Autopilot
- Manage Apple devices through Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrolment
- Maintain APNs certificates, ABM tokens and Volume Purchase Program (VPP) apps
- Build and maintain compliance policies, configuration profiles and app deployments
- Centrally manage patching and OS updates across the device fleet
User support
- Provide first- and second-line support to a hybrid team, in person and remotely
- Log, prioritise and resolve tickets within agreed service levels
- Run joiner, mover and leaver processes, including device builds and account provisioning
- Write clear knowledge base articles and user guides
Security, compliance and improvement
- Support security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials Plus
- Keep IT asset records and documentation accurate and up to date
- Automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell or Microsoft Graph where possible
- Suggest and implement improvements to tools, processes and the user experience
Essential skills and experience
- 2+ years in an IT support, service desk or systems administration role
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration, including Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
- Solid Exchange Online experience: mailboxes, mail flow and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Azure / Entra ID: users, groups, MFA and Conditional Access
- Experience managing devices with Microsoft Intune
- Experience with Apple Business Manager and managing macOS or iOS devices
- Comfortable supporting both Windows and macOS users
- Experience supporting a hybrid or remote workforce
- Familiar with a ticketing system and working to service levels
- Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable skills and certifications
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator) or AZ-104 (Azure Administrator)
- PowerShell scripting or Microsoft Graph for automation
- Windows Autopilot deployment experience
- Exposure to endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike Falcon or Microsoft Defender
- Experience with Freshservice or a similar ITSM platform
- Experience with compliance and security tools such as Drata, & Aikido advantageous
- Awareness of SOC 2, Cyber Essentials Plus or ISO 27001
- Understanding of email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Basic networking knowledge: DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi and VPN
