Team & Reporting Line: IT Team (Team Lead), reporting to the COO

Our satellite constellation delivers high-resolution land surface temperature data, giving governments, defence organisations, commercial operators and global institutions the intelligence they need to monitor change, assess risk and make better-informed decisions.

From national security and critical infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience, constellr turns temperature into actionable intelligence for a changing world.

Your Role

As Director - IT, you'll own constellr's operational IT strategy and infrastructure as we scale across five locations and launch our primary operations in Munich. You'll lead a growing IT team and set the direction for our architecture and security. You'll also make sure our systems are reliable enough to support the foundations of our operations, not just office productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver our IT strategy, roadmap and budget
• Lead, hire and develop our IT team across infrastructure, front-end, back-end and coordination
• Take ownership of vendor management and all IT procurement decisions
• Set and enforce our IT security policy in close partnership with our Cybersecurity Officer
• Make sure our infrastructure is reliable and able to scale across all of our sites

Job requirements

About you

Required:

• Proven experience leading an IT function
• A strong background in infrastructure, security and vendor management
• Experience building or scaling IT teams
• Fluency in English

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a scaling or startup organization
• German language skills
• Experience in aerospace, defense or another security-conscious industry
• Experience running multi-site or international IT operations
• Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, CISSP or CISM
