Job Title: IT Help Desk Department: IT
Reports To: IT Manager FLSA Status: Hourly
Shift: M-F Days, Full-Time Wage Range: $20-$25.00/hr.
Job Summary: An IT Help Desk individual is responsible for being a supportive role in the IT team. Supporting the ticketing system, resetting passwords, assisting onboarding and offboarding employees and working at their desk to answer phone calls, route individuals to the IT ticketing program, while being courteous, professional and supporting employees both onsite in the office and plant and those working remotely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to IT support requests via ticketing system, phone, email, or in-person.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Provide basic support for Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, and commonly used applications.
- Assist with new hire technology setups including user accounts, hardware deployment, and onboarding support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic networking issues (e.g., connectivity, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Document incidents, resolutions, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
- Support and maintain inventory of IT assets including hardware and software licenses.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or appropriate teams as needed.
- Follow security protocols for handling sensitive data and IT equipment.
- Assist with system updates, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support Nahan’s Information Security Program and report any suspicious activity via a Security Incident Report.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Support Nahan’s 6S initiatives as required..
- Follow all Nahan’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- Complete other tasks requested by Supervisor.
Skills Abilities required:
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service mindset and team-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
- Strong knowledge of computers, major operating systems, hardware, and software.
- Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, installation and reinstallation of software, operating systems, device drivers/firmware, and network fundamentals.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technological environments.
- Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or accredited IT Certificate Program completion, in computer science/related field, required.
- 0- 2 years of relevant IT support or help desk experience.
- Internships or hands-on training experience in IT support a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, Operating Systems, and E-mail.

This job operates in a hybrid office environment with exposure to a Manufacturing environment on occasion. While performing the duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing facility/office setting, the employee is frequently exposed to normal to moderate working conditions for a hybrid office and manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually quiet - moderate with minimal to some interruptions. The role routinely uses office equipment, software and hardware.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, type, write and be exposed to regular meetings, both virtually and in person. The employee may be required to stand/sit for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is sometimes required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 25lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
