Candidate Resources
Team & Role
As the IT & Identity Manager at Benepass, you’ll own the IT function and the systems that support our employees, operating as a highly autonomous, hands-on leader within the organization. While this role does not currently have direct reports, you’ll have significant ownership and responsibility, setting the IT roadmap, running reliable IT services, and remaining hands-on with identity, endpoint management, SaaS administration, and automation. You’ll be accountable for service quality, project delivery, and the effective use of IT resources.
Reporting to the Head of Infosec & GRC, you’ll partner closely with Engineering, People Operations, Security, and Finance to turn business needs into clear priorities. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you’ll make decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and build scalable processes that others can operate. You’ll balance strategic ownership with day-to-day execution, including providing support coverage when needed while making capacity constraints and project impacts visible.
Role Location & Travel
This remote role is based in the United States or Canada. You will be expected to attend company-wide on-site events three to four times per year, as well as occasional on-site office travel as necessary.
What You’ll Own
IT Direction & Delivery: Own the IT roadmap, priorities, and operating processes. Set measurable goals, coordinate dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and resource needs to stakeholders.
Identity & Access: Own Okta, identity governance, HRIS identity integration, and automated provisioning and deprovisioning. Maintain reliable identity data, role-based access, SSO integrations, and access review processes in partnership with Security and People Operations.
SaaS & Endpoint Operations: Own the reliability, configuration, and lifecycle of our SaaS portfolio and managed devices, including Google Workspace and Jamf. Maintain asset records, device compliance, application ownership, and appropriate data handling.
Employee Lifecycle: Own onboarding, role changes, and offboarding with People Operations. Define clear responsibilities, approvals, and fulfillment procedures so the associate can execute routine tasks consistently and escalate exceptions.
Service Delivery & Escalations: Set support priorities, response and resolution targets, and escalation paths. Track backlog, service performance, and recurring issues. Resolve complex incidents and eliminate underlying causes while balancing support coverage with project capacity.
Operational Leadership & Scalability: Establish clear IT processes, documentation, and operating standards that enable consistent execution and scale with the organization. Provide technical guidance, establish best practices, and ensure critical workflows have appropriate documentation and backup coverage.
Automation & Systems Change: Design and deliver reliable workflows using APIs, scripting, Okta Workflows, and platforms such as n8n.
Vendors, Spend & Performance: Manage IT vendors, renewals, licensing, and spend planning with Finance and the Head of Infosec & GRC. Use service metrics, SaaS utilization, and device compliance data to guide investment and improvement.
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years in IT systems, identity, or SaaS administration, with demonstrated ownership of services or programs in a growing technology organization.
Identity Engineering: Strong hands-on experience with Okta administration, Workflows, Identity Governance, SSO integrations, and automated identity lifecycle management.
Functional & People Leadership: Experience setting priorities, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering cross-functional projects, together with supervising or coaching support staff and delegating work with clear accountability.
SaaS & Endpoint Management: Proven ownership of SaaS administration, licensing, integrations, and data governance, plus practical expertise with Jamf Pro and Google Workspace Admin for Mac and Chromebook environments.
Automation: Proficiency with APIs and scripting such as Python, shell scripting, or Google Apps Script, and experience building, troubleshooting, and maintaining operational workflows.
Service Management: Ability to define support processes, service targets, asset controls, and useful operational metrics, and to use them to manage capacity and improve employee experience.
Judgment & Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, sound prioritization, and the ability to explain tradeoffs, resolve competing needs, and raise risks early.
