IT Network Engineer
The Position:
Join the IT Infrastructure team of one of the region's most recognizable retail groups and take ownership of a network that keeps offices, stores, and warehouses running every single day. As a ΙΤ Network Engineer, you will operate and evolve our enterprise network across headquarters, stores, and remote locations in four countries, play a hands-on role in our SD-WAN and hybrid-cloud connectivity roadmap, and make sure the environment stays stable, secure, and high-performing. You will work side by side with internal IT teams and leading technology partners on both day-to-day operations and strategic infrastructure projects, with real scope to grow into senior network and cloud networking roles.
Reporting to the IT Lead Network Engineer, you will be responsible and accountable to:
•Operate, support, and continuously improve the Group's enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure across headquarters, stores, warehouses, and remote sites, safeguarding high availability and consistent performance for business-critical operations
•Own network incidents end to end: detect, diagnose, and resolve connectivity, performance, and latency issues across all locations, perform structured root-cause analysis on logs, traffic captures, and monitoring data, and each case through to permanent resolution
•Configure, maintain, and optimize routing and switching environments, including VLANs and trunking, spanning tree, static and dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP), QoS policies, and high-availability designs across multi-vendor equipment
•Support and expand the Group's SD-WAN estate: onboard new sites, tune application-aware routing and traffic-steering policies, manage overlay and underlay connectivity, and ensure resilient, cost-efficient links between locations
•Monitor network health, capacity, and performance through enterprise monitoring platforms, proactively spot trends before they turn into outages, and play an active role in incidents, problems, and change management processes
•Deliver and support secure connectivity services, including site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, inter-site links, and internet breakouts, working closely with the Security team and connectivity providers
•Participate in network implementation, migration, and infrastructure upgrade projects, from technical design and validation to rollout, cut-over, and post-implementation support, including new store openings and site relocations
•Implement and support Azure networking and hybrid connectivity solutions that bridge on-premises and cloud environments, contributing to the Group's cloud transformation roadmap
•Collaborate closely with internal IT teams (Infrastructure, Security, Applications, Service Desk) and with external technology partners, vendors, and telecom providers, coordinating technical delivery and following up on agreed service levels
•Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP addressing plans, configuration standards, operating procedures, and knowledge base articles, keeping the environment transparent and supportable for the whole team
•Help evolve and safeguard network standards, configuration baselines, and operational best practices, proposing improvements that increase automation, resilience, and security maturity.
Qualifications & Competencies required:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
•3+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and infrastructure operations
•Solid understanding of core networking technologies:
oTCP/IP
oRouting & Switching
oOSPF
oBGP
•Proven experience with enterprise routing and switching platforms from Cisco and other leading network vendors
•Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments with branch offices, stores, and remote locations
•Experience with enterprise wireless environments, including controllers, access points, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
•Working knowledge of SD-WAN concepts and technologies
•Familiarity with Microsoft Azure networking concepts
•CCNA or equivalent certification
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, a structured and ownership-driven approach, and very good command of English.
Nice to Have:
•Hands-on experience with Azure networking, including VNets, VNet Peering, VPN Gateways, UDRs, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and hybrid connectivity architectures
•Experience working with Jira or other ITSM and ticketing platforms
•Knowledge of voice, telephony, and unified communications solutions in enterprise environments.
