ABOUT SAILOTECH
Sailotech is a global IT services and consulting company delivering enterprise technology, ERP, analytics and digital transformation solutions to manufacturing and life-sciences organizations worldwide. We help our clients turn strategy into governed, high-value technology delivery — and we are growing our leadership bench to match.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a seasoned IT Portfolio Manager to lead the end-to-end IT investment portfolio for a global Drug Product Division spanning sterile and oral solid dose manufacturing, technology transfer, quality and laboratory systems, planning, maintenance, automation, site infrastructure and operational analytics.
You will convert business strategy into a governed, prioritized and executable portfolio of programs and projects — owning a single, trusted view of investment, delivery health, risk, capacity and value. This is a high-visibility role where your recommendations directly shape what gets funded, sequenced, recovered or stopped, in an environment where technology-transfer execution, batch output, right-first-time performance and release speed determine customer delivery and margin.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Own the portfolio — Own the integrated portfolio roadmap, investment profile, delivery forecast and governance calendar for the division.
• Drive strategy to execution — Translate divisional strategy into funded programs with clear traceability from priority to execution to realized value.
• Prioritize with rigor — Run intake, assessment and sequencing against consistent criteria — strategic fit, value, risk, dependencies, affordability and capacity — and prepare decision-ready start / continue / pause / stop recommendations.
• Lead governance — Direct the full cadence: monthly portfolio reviews, quarterly business reviews, annual planning, stage gates and executive readouts.
• Challenge constructively — Correct unsupported RAG ratings, require recovery or rebaseline plans, and escalate material delivery, financial, quality, compliance or vendor risks with options and a recommendation.
• Control the money — Manage the portfolio budget baseline, forecast, actuals, CapEx/OpEx classification, commitments, accruals and variance actions.
• Balance capacity — Own resource and capacity planning across internal teams, vendors and specialist functions, and recommend allocation trade-offs.
• Integrate the landscape — Coordinate MES, LIMS, QMS, ERP, planning, maintenance and infrastructure dependencies to avoid fragmented releases and duplicate site disruption.
• Govern vendors — Lead vendor delivery governance — SOW alignment, deliverables, performance scorecards and renewal recommendations.
• Lead people — Set delivery standards for project and program managers, coach them, and drive closure, benefits transition and lessons learned.
WHERE YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
• Sequence investments around site production windows, validation availability, product transfers, capacity expansion and equipment lifecycle.
• Govern technology-transfer and manufacturing programs with explicit measures for cycle time, readiness, first-time-right execution and post-launch stabilization.
• Track outcomes that matter to the floor — batch output, schedule adherence, right-first-time, deviation and CAPA closure, batch release, equipment uptime and OEE.
• Challenge “green” status without objective evidence on validation, business readiness, data migration, training, cutover, vendor delivery or site acceptance.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, life sciences, business, finance or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive IT project / program / portfolio management experience, including 4+ years managing a complex multi-project portfolio.
• Portfolio management experience in a regulated environment — pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, healthcare or similar.
• Proven leadership of annual planning, prioritization, executive governance, financial management and delivery recovery.
• Strong command of stage-gate governance, risk and dependency management, and benefits realization.
• Working knowledge of CapEx/OpEx, business cases, forecasting, accruals, vendor SOWs and portfolio-level financial analysis.
• Advanced executive communication — decision framing, scenario analysis and stakeholder management at senior level.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise portfolio management tools, dashboards and structured data-quality controls.
NICE TO HAVE
• PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with Planview or a comparable enterprise PPM platform.
• Delivery experience across ERP, MES, LIMS, QMS, supply-chain planning or manufacturing technology programs.
• Experience governing validated / GxP-relevant solutions — computer-system validation, data integrity, change control and inspection readiness.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams, site-based stakeholders and third-party delivery partners.
WHY JOIN US
• Global scope and real decision influence — your recommendations shape a multi-program investment portfolio.
• A portfolio where technology directly moves batch output, quality performance and patient supply.
• Executive visibility with divisional and PMO leadership from day one.
• Hybrid, globally flexible working model.
