IT Portfolio Analyst

About This Role:

The IT Portfolio Analyst supports the IT Business Office across IT demand governance, portfolio reporting, portfolio data integrity, and vendor management. The role manages the front end of the demand pipeline, qualifying incoming requests, providing basic support for business case development, and helping capture and track the expected and realized value of IT investments. The analyst prepares portfolio reporting, maintains the documentation, tools, and standards that keep the portfolio accurate, transparent, and reliable, and provides supporting assistance with cost views as needed.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

• Assists with the IT demand intake process and manages early qualification of incoming requests.
• Captures sufficient information at intake to confirm requests are appropriate for IT to undertake and to screen out work that falls outside IT's scope.
• Confirms that incoming requests are strategically aligned with the requesting business unit.
• Ensures the expected benefit of each request is captured in measurable terms to support downstream value reporting.
• Partners with business unit stakeholders and IT teams to surface the underlying business problem behind each request, including those that arrive already framed as a solution, and clarifies requirements and expectations ahead of intake and qualification.
• Provides team capacity information to support demand prioritization and capacity planning.
• Gathers benefit realization data through stakeholder interviews to support the preparation of value realization reviews.
• Helps maintain and update value and benefit tracking records.
• Prepares portfolio and executive reporting on non-financial dimensions, such as portfolio health, status, progress, and delivery performance.
• Provides supporting assistance with the preparation of cost views as needed.
• Documents governance decisions and action items.
• Maintains portfolio tools, templates, dashboards, and reporting standards.
• Ensures the integrity of project financials and portfolio data.
• Supports maintenance of the IT Service Catalog by identifying gaps and flagging where entries need to be added or updated.
• Recommends improvements to portfolio management processes, governance practices, and reporting standards.
• Provides support for vendor management activities, which may include SLA monitoring, subscription optimization, cloud service brokering, and systems integrator (SI) relationship governance.
• Identifies and tags AI-related initiatives during intake and portfolio reporting; supports tracking of expected and realized value for AI use cases consistent with standard benefit tracking practices.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or an Information Technology-related discipline, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience Required and Preferred:

• Minimum two years of professional experience in technical portfolio work and working directly with IT teams, with a functional understanding of IT systems, applications, and tools.

What You Bring:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and project management software.
• Experience using an IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
• Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail and accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, with the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to set expectations and, when necessary, decline or redirect requests that cannot be accommodated, doing so diplomatically and collaboratively in a way that preserves stakeholder trust and working relationships.
• Adaptability and flexibility in response to shifting priorities, recognizing that IT processes and priorities evolve continuously.
• Working understanding of change management principles.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and works with minimal supervision.
• Exposure to Snowflake (development-level expertise is not required).
• Experience with Aha! preferred.
• CAPM or ITIL certification preferred.
• Experience assisting with the development of business cases preferred.

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $84,000-100,000.

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
