Position Summary
The Project Manager leads client-facing IT infrastructure and managed services projects from initiation through closure. This role translates technical scope into practical project plans, coordinates technical teams, vendors, procurement, and client stakeholders, and keeps projects aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. By delivering organized, proactive project leadership, this position strengthens the client experience, supports timely delivery and revenue, and expands the Project Management Office’s capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of client-facing IT projects, including managed services onboardings, migrations, offboardings, infrastructure implementations, cybersecurity deployments, hardware refreshes, and environment upgrades.
- Review statements of work, technical requirements, budgets, dependencies, and resource needs to confirm delivery readiness before kickoff.
- Develop clear project plans with milestones, owners, dependencies, acceptance criteria, go-live checkpoints, and transition-to-support activities.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while monitoring scope, schedules, budgets, labor hours, documentation, client commitments, and hardware or vendor dependencies.
- Lead client-facing and internal project meetings, communicate status and decisions, and ensure required actions are completed.
- Coordinate engineers, technical leads, Procurement, Account Management, Sales, vendors, and client stakeholders across interdependent workstreams.
- Identify risks, scope changes, blockers, and conflicting requirements early; recommend solutions and escalate decisions when needed.
- Validate implementation readiness, quality assurance, client acceptance, billing milestones, and closure criteria.
- Maintain accurate project records and status updates in project management systems and contribute to process improvements and lessons learned.
- Build trusted relationships while setting clear expectations, holding owners accountable, and maintaining a confident, solutions-oriented approach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least four years of experience managing client-facing IT infrastructure or managed services projects in an MSP, technology services provider, consulting organization, or similarly complex customer-facing environment.
- Experience leading projects involving several of the following: networking, servers, endpoints, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, identity and access, cybersecurity, migrations, hardware deployment, site readiness, or IT environment assessments.
- Ability to interpret statements of work, technical requirements, and solution documentation and turn them into actionable delivery plans.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, including scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, risk and issue management, acceptance criteria, and go-live readiness.
- Experience coordinating technical resources, vendors, procurement, account teams, and clients across resource-constrained, interdependent workstreams.
- Proven ability to identify technical and operational risks, resolve ambiguity, manage scope changes, and escalate issues with clear recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to facilitate technical discussions, hold owners accountable, and present concise updates to clients and leadership.
- Proficiency with project management platforms and Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting healthcare, senior care, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with ConnectWise, Jira, GuideCX, or a comparable project management platform.
- PMP, CAPM, CompTIA Project+, Network+, Security+, ITIL, or another relevant project management or technical certification.
- Experience managing a high-volume project portfolio in a resource-constrained environment.
What Success Looks Like
A high-performing Project Manager keeps a complex portfolio moving with clear plans, accurate documentation, proactive risk management, and consistent follow-through.
