We are looking for a talented IT Senior Data Product Owner to join our team.

Location: Nashville TN - Onsite with Flexibility (3 days in office, 2 remote)

Travel: Less than 10%

The IT Senior Data Product Owner is accountable for the value, quality, and adoption of an assigned portfolio of enterprise data products. The role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics delivery team. It partners with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to understand how decisions are made, and turns those needs into trusted, governed, reusable data assets.

The role owns the data product vision, roadmap, and backlog. It defines what gets built and why, sets acceptance criteria and data quality expectations, and makes sure delivered products are actually used to improve business outcomes. Data products include curated data sets, semantic models, certified KPIs and metrics, dashboards, and data services. They are built on the enterprise data platform (Snowflake and Tableau) and sourced from core systems including Oracle EBS and Fusion, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.

This is a builder’s role for someone who is equally comfortable facilitating a metrics-definition workshop with business leaders, writing a crisp data user story with acceptance criteria, profiling a source table in SQL, and validating a Tableau dashboard against source. The role will deliver data capabilities that underpin the company’s commercial, customer experience, and AI roadmaps, including the integration of data from newly acquired businesses.

Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Act as the trusted data partner for business stakeholders and for the Business Analysts and Business Solutions Managers aligned to each function.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand the decisions they make, the questions they need answered, and the KPIs that measure success.
  • Align data product priorities with business objectives, the enterprise data strategy, and the application roadmaps of each Business Solutions domain.
  • Serve as the single voice of “what data we’re building and why” for the Data & Analytics delivery team and stakeholders.

Data Product Ownership & Roadmap

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and release plan for assigned data products, and define each product’s purpose, consumers, scope, and success measures.
  • Own and groom the data product backlog, balancing business value, effort, data readiness, and dependencies through a transparent prioritization framework.
  • Decompose roadmap initiatives into Epics, Features, and User Stories, each with clear acceptance criteria, data quality thresholds, and a shared definition of done.
  • Track and report data product adoption, usage, value delivered, and quality metrics to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate redundant reports and data sets into certified, reusable data products.

Business & Data Requirements

  • Elicit, document, validate, and prioritize data requirements, including business definitions, metric logic, granularity, refresh frequency, history, and access needs.
  • Lead KPI and metric definition workshops so that metrics are defined once, agreed across functions, and certified for enterprise use.
  • Map source-to-target data flows and business rules, and identify gaps between source system data and business needs.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into data product options with clear trade-offs for stakeholders.
  • Plan and lead data validation and user acceptance testing, including reconciliation against source systems.

Data Quality, Governance & Metadata

  • Conduct data profiling and descriptive and diagnostic analysis of source and curated data to identify quality, coherency, and integrability issues and to reduce data redundancy.
  • Define data quality rules, cleansing methods, thresholds, and service levels with data owners and stewards. Apply statistical process controls to monitor data quality over time.
  • Own data catalog entries for assigned products, including business glossary terms, definitions, lineage, ownership, classification, and usage guidance. Ensure metadata quality.
  • Partner with data owners, stewards, and IT Governance to embed data quality findings into governance processes, controls, and remediation plans.
  • Ensure data products meet security, privacy, access control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help define and improve customer, product, and other master data quality and governance processes in partnership with the business.

Data Platform & Technology

  • Partner with data engineers, architects, and integration teams on the design and delivery of data pipelines, data models, and semantic layers in Snowflake.
  • Write and run SQL to profile, explore, and validate data, with enough depth to scope work, write precise tickets, and challenge estimates.
  • Build, configure, or validate Tableau dashboards and metrics (including Tableau Pulse) for assigned products.
  • Understand source system data structures and integration patterns across Oracle EBS and Fusion, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and MuleSoft well enough to diagnose data issues at the source.
  • Evaluate and apply machine learning and AI-assisted tools to improve data quality, metadata, and data discovery.
  • Ensure data products are AI-ready (well-defined, documented, governed, and trustworthy) to support AI and advanced analytics use cases in line with company AI governance standards.

Project & Change Management

  • Participate in or lead medium-to-large data and analytics initiatives supporting business functions.
  • Assist with project planning, prioritization, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support organizational change management, training, and user adoption of data products, including retiring legacy reports.
  • Promote standardized processes, governance, and documentation practices.
  • Coordinate handoffs across business stakeholders, Business Solutions teams, Data & Analytics, integration, and ERP teams, and actively manage critical data dependencies, such as source system readiness and acquisition data integration.
  • Maintain documentation of key decisions, business rules, controls, and processes, and create training material.
  • Coach, mentor, and review the work of less experienced team members, and provide guidance on problem resolution.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Passion for turning data into better business decisions and outcomes.
  • Must be excellent at building relationships cross-functionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of presenting to professional and executive-level audiences in writing and in presentations. Able to present, negotiate, and influence business stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Experience working in matrix environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in global, cross-cultural environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or data and analytics roles.
  • Experience delivering enterprise data products, data warehouses, or analytics solutions consumed across multiple business functions.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the data behind them, including:
    • Lead-to-Cash / Order-to-Cash
    • Customer and Product Master Data
    • Sales and Customer Service Performance
    • Supply Chain and Inventory
    • Financial Reporting
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or consumer products industries preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong SQL skills for data profiling, analysis, and validation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred, Databricks acceptable) and BI tools (Tableau preferred; Power BI acceptable).
  • Experience with:
    • Data modeling concepts (dimensional models, semantic layers)
    • Data quality, profiling, and statistical process control techniques
    • Data catalog, metadata, and lineage tools
    • ERP and CRM data structures (Oracle EBS/Fusion, Salesforce)
    • APIs and integration concepts
    • Agile and product delivery methodologies
  • Strong understanding of data governance and master data concepts.

Nice to Have:

  • Agile product certifications (CSPO/PSPO) or Snowflake, Tableau, or data governance (e.g., CDMP) certifications.
  • Experience preparing data for AI/LLM use cases (search, recommendations, agents) or applying ML to data quality.
  • Familiarity with Tableau Pulse, Salesforce CRM Analytics, or MuleSoft.
  • Experience integrating data from acquired businesses or multi-region operations.
  • Domain experience in filtration, automotive, or heavy-duty aftermarket parts.
