About the role
As our sole internal IT team member, you’ll be the go-to person for all things IT across the organisation. Our devices are predominantly all Macs, and we work from the Microsoft environment, which is predominantly administered by a third-party IT service provider. You’ll be the main point of contact for that relationship, making sure we get the most from it and that work is delivered to a high standard.
Day to day, you’ll handle IT and network queries that can be resolved in house (support through our Third-Party service desk is available for other technical queries), be responsible for our password management system and our VoIP system. Alongside this, we are looking for someone who is comfortable in helping to deliver change IT projects, sometimes using your own knowledge and experience, and where necessary to manage Third Party support to deliver.
You will work closely with, and be part of the wider business operations team, to ensure that the business runs smoothly and efficiently.
This role is a great opportunity for anyone who is comfortable working under their own initiative, perhaps wanting the autonomy of working away from a service desk, and the opportunity to be involved in many different areas of infrastructure and data security in a growing and thriving business. You’ll also be required to work closely with our internal development team who maintain our internal project management system and are currently working on our AI rollout across the business. Because of this, a knowledge of the Microsoft Co-Pilot environment and security settings would be advantageous.
The role includes:
Acting as the first point of contact for all internal IT queries, resolving issues promptly and keeping colleagues informed company wide
Setting up, enrolling and managing Mac devices using Microsoft Intune and Entra ID, including onboarding and offboarding of staff
Managing the relationship with our third-party IT support provider, raising and tracking tickets, escalating where needed and holding them to agreed service levels
Administering our password management system, including user access, shared folders and security policies
Managing our phone system, including users, numbers, call routing and troubleshooting
Supporting Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive on Mac
Handling sensitive personal data with care and following data protection (UK GDPR) and security best practice
Helping to plan, manage and deliver larger IT projects, working with internal teams and external suppliers
Maintaining accurate records of hardware, software, licences and user accounts
Writing clear guidance and documentation for colleagues and for IT processes
Identifying and suggesting improvements to our systems, security and ways of working
