IT System Engineer New York City, NY 100,000 - 125,000 About IT System Engineer | Both System & Network-Focused | MSP | Hybrid | New York City Location: New York City (Hybrid Work Environment) Salary Range: 100K to 125K (Based on Experience + Bonus Structure) A fast-growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) in New York City is seeking an IT System Engineer to join their team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to sharpen both their network engineering and system administration skills while working on client projects and advanced support tickets alongside senior network engineers. IT System Engineer Responsibilities: Lead and assist with projects (70%) including installation, configuration, and optimization of network devices (Fortinet, Meraki, Unify). Handle advanced Level 3 support (30%) in a collaborative team setting. Manage and implement LAN, WAN, and wireless network environments for clients. Perform heatmapping, troubleshooting, and post-deployment support. Administer and support systems: M365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure, and Teams. Work with tools such as ConnectWise Manage, ScreenConnect, N-Able RMM, and SentinelOne. Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and network security solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers to gain exposure to advanced networking and cybersecurity initiatives. IT System Engineer Requirements: Previous MSP experience is required. Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and related technologies. Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, etc.). Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policies. Hands-on experience configuring firewalls, VPNs, and implementing security protocols (Fortinet, Cisco, or Meraki preferred). Exposure to cloud networking solutions (Azure). Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Datto, or PRTG.
