A client of TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Business System Analyst to support and enhance commodity trade operations through strong business analysis, communication, and techno-functional solution support of SaaS, off-the-shelf, and custom applications. This role partners with Trading, Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, and IT teams to translate business needs into clear requirements, support solution design, and drive high-quality delivery across the full project lifecycle. The position also provides ongoing application and integration support, including incident analysis, root-cause investigation, and production stabilization. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of commodity trading and hedging processes, strong stakeholder management, and hands-on experience supporting ETRM/CTRM platforms in a functional or techno-functional capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Business Analysis

· Lead end-to-end business analysis for hedging and trade initiatives, from discovery through stabilization and hypercare.

· Guide documentation of current and future-state processes, including process maps, controls, handoffs, and exception handling across front-to-back trade flows.

· Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.

· Partner with solution architects, product owners, and delivery teams to support solution design, configuration approach, and integration touchpoints.

· Identify data and reporting needs (positions, exposures, P&L, settlements, confirmations) and support alignment on definitions, sources, and reconciliation expectations.

· Support planning and execution of System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test strategy input, test case review, and execution coordination.

· Drive defect triage and resolution workflows: reproduce issues, document impacts, prioritize with stakeholders, and coordinate fixes with vendors and internal teams.

· Support deployment readiness activities, including cutover planning inputs, operational readiness checks, and stakeholder communications.

Application, Integration & Production Support:

· Provide functional and techno-functional support for hedging and trade applications, including day-to-day issue intake, analysis, and resolution coordination.

· Support integration monitoring and troubleshooting across upstream/downstream systems (e.g., market data, confirmations, settlements, accounting interfaces, reporting).

· Coordinate with vendors and internal support teams to manage escalations, track SLAs, and ensure timely resolution of production issues.

· Maintain and improve support models, including intake processes, triage playbooks, escalation paths, and operational runbooks.

· Analyze incidents and service requests, perform root-cause investigation, and document findings, workarounds, and permanent corrective actions.

· Develop and maintain operational documentation to improve support consistency and reduce recurring issues.

· Support production stabilization efforts by identifying recurring defects, process gaps, and control weaknesses and recommend and drive remediation plans.

· Participate in change management and release readiness activities to ensure supportability, clear ownership, and smooth transitions to operations.

Collaboration & Influence:

· Serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders and communicate clearly across business and technical audiences.

· Facilitate decision-making by presenting options, impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs and drive alignment on requirements and delivery outcomes.

· Promote disciplined delivery practices, including scope control, requirements quality, traceability, and test evidence.

· Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of analysis standards, templates, and delivery practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Experience:

· 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Analyst supporting commodity trading and hedging processes in a functional or techno-functional capacity.

· Proven delivery experience across requirements, process mapping, solution design support, SIT/UAT coordination, defect triage, deployment readiness, and hypercare.

· Experience supporting production applications, including incident analysis, root-cause investigation, vendor coordination, and operational documentation.

· Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, testable requirements and to manage traceability through testing and release.

· Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive alignment across multiple teams and priorities.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.

· Experience with ION XTP (or similar ION platforms) supporting trade processing, integrations, and operational workflows.

· Experience with ION Openlink (Endur/Openlink) in a functional or techno-functional role supporting trading and risk operations.

Preferred Experience:

· Experience working in regulated or controlled environments with strong attention to auditability, controls, and operational risk management.
