Java Developer – Canada Remote

Job Title: Java Developer / Full Stack Java Developer
Location: Canada – Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Experience: 4+ Years
Work Model: 100% Remote

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our team for a fully remote opportunity in Canada. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL and should be comfortable working in an Agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications.

  • Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

  • Build and maintain Microservices and distributed applications.

  • Work with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.

  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.

  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and production support.

  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers.

  • Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.

  • Develop unit and integration tests and ensure application quality.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning.

  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

  • Contribute to technical documentation and development best practices.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of professional Java development experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.

  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.

  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.

  • Strong understanding of Microservices architecture.

  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience with JPA/Hibernate.

  • Knowledge of Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.

  • Experience with JUnit/Mockito or similar testing frameworks.

  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms.

  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

  • Knowledge of Redis, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with enterprise-level applications.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
