Java Developer w French

Position Description

CGI is looking for an experienced Java Developer Team Leader to join one of our projects and contribute to the development of mission applications that process large volumes of data.

In this role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and evolving our platform while guiding a team of developers and contributing to architectural decisions in a modern Big Data environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of software developers;
• Coordinate and monitor development activities to ensure successful project delivery;
• Drive technical excellence and promote best development practices;
• Conduct code reviews and support team members' professional growth;
• Contribute to architectural decisions and define technical roadmaps;
• Ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and development guidelines.

Application Development:

• Design, develop, and implement new application features;
• Maintain and enhance existing applications through corrective and evolutionary maintenance;
• Participate in testing, integration, deployment, and production support activities;
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform quality and operational efficiency.

Data & Platform Engineering:

• Develop and maintain integrations within a distributed and event-driven architecture;
• Support large-scale data processing and real-time data exchange solutions;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable services.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading or coordinating development teams.
• Strong experience designing and developing distributed Java applications.
• Fluent French (written and spoken) is required.
• Solid understanding of Big Data ecosystems, asynchronous messaging, and data integration frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile and multicultural environments.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong expertise in Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and the development of REST/SOAP APIs.
• Proven experience with Big Data and event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka, Couchbase, Talend, data streaming, and integration solutions.
• Knowledge of SQL, distributed systems, application performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting using Kibana and Grafana.
• Familiarity with modern security frameworks and authentication technologies such as SSO, OAuth2, SAML, and CyberArk.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices; Docker is a plus.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments and delivering scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
