VMware Cloud Foundation 9 Architect

VCF 9 Architect for an enterprise VMware platform | NRW, Germany | Remote-first, 6+ months

F1Service is looking for a VCF 9 Architect for our client, a large enterprise near Bielefeld and Gütersloh that is evolving its private cloud on VMware Cloud Foundation 9. We need a dedicated VCF specialist to own the architecture. If your career has been built around VCF rather than general infrastructure, this one is for you.

Your role in the project

- Own the target architecture of the VCF platform and shape how it grows

- Guide the team through demanding virtualisation and private cloud decisions, from concept to rollout

- Set the standards for scaling, resilience, security and lifecycle

- Lead the technical side of migrations and platform transformation inside VMware

- Be the go-to expert for the operations, platform and infrastructure teams

Your background

- A clear VCF specialisation with deep knowledge of the VMware stack

- Several years as a VMware architect for large enterprises or major clients

- Strong command of vSphere, ESXi and vCenter

- Track record in designing, building or modernising private cloud / SDDC landscapes

- Projects at corporate or group level (SME-only experience will not be enough here)

- Bonus: VCF or other Broadcom/VMware certifications at architect level

Project setup

- Induction: December 2026, go-live: January 2027

- Duration: 6 months with extension potential

- Load: from 2 days a week, ideally 3 to 5

- Mostly remote, with an on-site kick-off in the region being welcome

- Languages: German C1+ and English B2+

- Open to candidates across Europe within ±2 hours of German time
