Position: Java Full Stack Engineer
Client: Cognizant
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Location: Bridgewater, NJ / Irving, TX / Miami, FL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week

Job Overview

Workiy Inc. is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer for a contract opportunity with Cognizant, supporting one of its end clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern frontend technologies such as React or Angular.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications.

  • Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

  • Build responsive frontend applications using React or Angular.

  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.

  • Work with relational databases and optimize application performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional development, testing, and DevOps teams.

  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.

  • Support cloud-based application development and deployment.

  • Follow Agile development practices and contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions.



Requirements

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java (Java 8/11/17 or later).

  • Proficiency in Spring Boot and Spring Framework.

  • Experience designing and developing microservices.

  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and enterprise integrations.

  • Experience with React.js or Angular.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.

  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with a W2 contract arrangement.

  • Must be available to work onsite 3 days per week in Bridgewater, NJ, Irving, TX, or Miami, FL.

  • Relevant enterprise Java full-stack development experience.

  • Candidates actively seeking new opportunities are preferred.
