As a Senior Java Developer, you design, develop, and optimize modern software applications that meet our clients' needs. You work within an Agile or DevOps team and are involved throughout the entire application lifecycle: from analysis and technical design to development, integration, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

You build new Java solutions and contribute to the modernization of existing applications. You pay close attention to quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

Thanks to your technical expertise, you are not only a strong developer but also a valuable discussion partner for clients and colleagues. You actively contribute to architectural decisions, technical improvements, and sustainable solutions for complex application challenges.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications.
• Build backend components and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs.
• Contribute to the modernization of existing applications.
• Develop microservices and API-based integrations where applicable within the project.
• Translate functional requirements into high-quality, future-oriented technical solutions.
• Monitor and improve the quality, performance, scalability, and reliability of applications.
• Write and maintain automated tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and the automation of build, test, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
• Discuss requirements, technical decisions, and improvement proposals with clients.
• Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

What do you bring?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or a comparable field.
• You have professional experience in Java software development within an enterprise environment.
• You have demonstrable experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• You have experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.
• You have knowledge of modern application architectures, such as microservices and API-based integrations.
• You have experience with relational databases and database access from Java applications.
• You have knowledge of software design and relevant architectural principles.
• You have experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
• You have practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with OpenShift is an additional advantage.
• You are comfortable working in an Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environment.
• You are familiar with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React is a plus.
• Interest in additional technologies such as Kotlin or Quarkus is an advantage.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You take responsibility and are results-oriented.
• You have strong communication skills and can explain complex technical topics clearly.
• You are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to further develop yourself.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
