We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our team responsible for backend development and the integration of banking systems.
In this role, you will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining integration services using Java, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. You will also contribute to integrations between Calypso and PayHub.
The project operates within a banking environment with high requirements for software quality, reliability, and system integration. You will work closely with analysts, testers, and other technical teams to deliver and enhance business-critical solutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend components using Java.
- Design and implement integrations between Calypso and PayHub.
- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs.
- Implement asynchronous communication using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Analyze and troubleshoot integration and production issues.
- Work with PostgreSQL, including creating and analyzing SQL queries.
- Participate in requirements analysis and the implementation of new functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with business/system analysts, testers, and other technical teams.
- Support integration testing and deployments of new solution versions.
- Contribute to the reliability and quality of integrations within the banking ecosystem.
Must-have requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience with Java.
- Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining backend applications.
- Practical knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting integration-related issues.
- Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous communication.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, including cooperation with analysts and testers.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Nice to have:
- Experience working on banking or financial projects.
- Experience with integration projects involving enterprise-class systems.
- Knowledge of payment processes and payment systems.
- Experience with event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of integration performance, reliability, and resilience.
- Experience analyzing logs and diagnosing production issues.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Hybrid work model: 2 days from the office, 3 days of home office.
Office location: Poznań.
