Java Software Engineer (Kafka)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for two Software Engineers to join an international team in the logistics and sea freight sector, contributing to the development and evolution of business-critical digital solutions. Based in Porto or remote-friendly locations in Portugal, with a flexible hybrid model requiring one on-site day per week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Develop and maintain backend applications using Java, Quarkus or Spring Boot.

- Build frontend components using Angular and TypeScript.

- Implement asynchronous integrations and event-driven flows with Apache Kafka.

- Work with AWS services and cloud infrastructure to support scalable, resilient and available solutions.

- Contribute to the definition and implementation of modern microservices-based architectures.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile delivery environment.

- Support application quality, performance and secure development practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.

- Contribute to data product initiatives and data platform integration when relevant.

- Work with Snowflake in data management and data consumption scenarios when applicable.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in software engineering.

- Strong experience delivering backend and frontend components in modern digital product environments.

- Ability to work with international and multidisciplinary teams.

- Professional working proficiency in English at C1 level or equivalent.

- Ownership, accountability and a solution-oriented mindset.

- Collaborative approach, transparency and willingness to share knowledge.

- Ability to contribute to quality, reliability and continuous improvement in complex delivery contexts.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 14 000 - EUR 36 000 gross/year

Total compensation: up to EUR 43 000/year

The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position
