Job Description This is a remote position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Review project briefs, architectural plans, scans or measurements provided by clients to understand cabinetry scope and specifications. Prepare cost estimates for cabinetry projects — include material costs (timber, panels, hardware, finishes), labour, overheads, and any subcontractor or external service costs. Produce detailed drawings (CAD, shop drawings) of cabinetry units: kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries, and related joinery. Include dimensions, joinery details, fixtures/hardware, finishing details. Perform material take-offs: quantify panels, boards, hardware, door/drawer fronts, edge banding, fillers, etc. Liaise with suppliers (wood, laminate, hardware) to obtain up-to-date pricing and lead times; update estimates accordingly. Collaborate with production team to ensure drawings are manufacturable and realistic (consider machine limitations, joining methods, tolerances). Assist design/sales team in providing quote revisions, variations, or options in response to client feedback. Keep a library of standard components, hardware, finishing options, standard details, etc., and maintain current pricing. Ensure drawings meet quality standards, including clarity, compliance with any applicable codes, functional design, and that they match client expectations. Track and reconcile estimates vs actual costs to help improve estimating accuracy over time. Requirements Formal training or qualification in Drafting, Joinery, Cabinetmaking, Interior Design, or similar field. Demonstrated experience in cabinetry/joinery estimating and drafting. Proficiency in CAD software and/or joinery design software (AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, 2020 Design, or similar). Strong understanding of joinery / cabinetry construction methods, hardware, finishes, materials. Good numerical / cost-calculation aptitude, attention to detail (measurements, tolerances, fit, materials). Ability to interpret architectural plans and translate them into cabinetry drawings. Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — for working remotely across teams. Reliable internet connection; capacity to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently while working independently. Ability to adapt and propose cost‐efficient alternatives without compromising aesthetic or functional quality.
