About ARQ
ARQ is one of the fastest-growing fintechs in the world. Our mission is to redefine how people interact with money across borders, building the backbone to move value seamlessly. We’re still early in our journey, which means every person who joins shapes the future of our product, culture, and growth. If you’re excited by big challenges, global impact, and the chance to grow fast with a world-class team, ARQ is the place to do it.
The Role
As a Junior Controllership Analyst, you will be part of the team that ensures the quality of ARQ’s accounting and financial information across multiple geographies, with an initial focus on Brazil. With support and mentorship from the senior team and local controllers, you will take part in day-to-day accounting and the monthly close, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, learning first-hand how a regulated fintech operates at scale and across different jurisdictions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow fast in a highly complex environment, with international exposure and constant learning.
What you’ll be doing
Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries and support the monthly close of the group’s entities across more than one geography, following the calendar and routines defined by the team.
Reconciliations: Perform bank, general ledger, and customer balance reconciliations, identifying differences and supporting the investigation and resolution of open items.
Regulatory Reporting: Support the preparation and validation of documents and reports to local regulators (such as CADOCs to the Central Bank in Brazil), together with the senior team.
Financial Statements: Support the preparation of trial balances and financial statements for the group’s entities, including notes to the financial statements, and assist with requests from the local external audits and the consolidated audit.
Tax Obligations & Intercompany: Support accounting-to-tax reconciliations, tax and withholding tracking, and the recording of intercompany transactions between group entities.
Local Accounting Standards & Consolidation: Support the understanding of differences between each country’s accounting practices (such as Brazilian GAAP/CPC, US GAAP, and IFRS) and the preparation of information for the group consolidation.
Process Improvement: Help document routines and identify automation opportunities, working with Finance, Product, and Data.

1 to 2 years of experience in accounting or controllership (internships count)
