About Carepatron
Carepatron is the healthcare platform helping more than 100,000 professionals across over 100 specialties care for their clients and get their time back. Therapists, psychologists, counselors, dietitians and whole multidisciplinary clinics in more than 120 countries run their working day on us: scheduling, telehealth, clinical notes, AI scribe, invoicing and insurance claims.
We started Carepatron after watching our own partners, a psychologist and a surgeon, lose their evenings to paperwork. That is still the problem we are solving. Less back-office work, more headspace for care.
The United States is our largest market, and behavioral health is where the need is sharpest. Practices there are losing hours every week to documentation, claims and credentialing, they are paying more each year for software that keeps adding per-clinician fees, and they are actively looking for something simpler. Almost all of our growth so far has come from practitioners finding us and recommending us to each other. We are now putting a real sales motion behind that, and building out a team of Account Executives to run it.
The role
This is an early-career closing role. You will run demos, work the inbound and close new business with US practices, with demo requests, trials and SDR-booked meetings landing in your calendar every week. You will not be doing it alone. You will work alongside senior AEs and SDRs, learn from a shared playbook, and get regular coaching on your calls and your pipeline.
It suits someone who has started their career in sales, knows they want to close, and is ready to carry a number.
There are three parts to the job.
The demos. Most of your meetings will come from inbound demo requests, practices already using Carepatron on a free or self-serve plan, and meetings booked by our SDR team. Your job is to turn those conversations into customers. Show up prepared, listen properly, and show each practice how Carepatron fits the way they already work.
Closing. You own your deals from discovery through to signature: the demo, the follow-up, pricing and the close. Most of your deals will be solo and small practices that decide in days or weeks, which means a lot of reps, fast feedback and a clear view of what works. The buyer is usually a practice owner who is also seeing clients, so being efficient with their time is part of the pitch.
Learning fast. Healthcare software has real depth: insurance claims, compliance, moving years of client records. You will learn the product and the US behavioral health market quickly, and bring what you hear from practices back to the team so the playbook keeps getting better.
What you will own
Closing and revenue
- Carry a new business quota and own the cycle behind it: discovery, demo, trial, follow-up and close.
- Run high-quality demos for inbound leads, self-serve users and SDR-booked meetings, and give every one the same preparation and respect.
- Show how Carepatron supports a US behavioral health practice day to day: intake and scheduling, notes and treatment plans, telehealth, superbills and insurance claims.
- Answer the common questions with confidence, including HIPAA and security, moving data off another system, and per-clinician pricing, and know when to bring in a senior AE or specialist.
- Hand customers over cleanly to onboarding so the practices you sell actually go live, stay, and tell other practices about us.
Pipeline
- Work the inbound quickly and properly. Trials, free-plan practices and demo requests arrive from the US every day, and speed to lead matters.
- Follow up with discipline, run nurture for practices that are not ready yet, and reopen the conversations that went quiet.
- Add your own outreach by phone, email and LinkedIn when your calendar has room.
- Keep the CRM accurate and up to date. We run on Pipedrive.
Growing as a seller
- Learn the playbook, run it well, then help improve it with what you hear on calls.
- Take coaching seriously. Review your own calls, ask for feedback and act on it.
- Share what is winning and losing deals with your fellow AEs, the SDR team and marketing.
What success looks like
In your first 30 days. You can demo Carepatron without help, you understand how a US practice gets paid by insurance, and you are running your own demos.
By 90 days. You are closing deals every week, your pipeline is healthy, and you know your own conversion rates without having to look them up.
Within 12 months. You are consistently at or above quota and ready to take on larger group practices and more complex deals.
What you will bring
- One to two years in a sales role with targets, ideally in B2B SaaS. That might be as an SDR or BDR ready to step up into closing, in a first closing role, or a strong track record in another sales environment.
- Evidence that you hit your numbers. Tell us what they were and how you got there.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Clear, warm and direct, with no filler.
- Real listening and real curiosity. The best discovery calls here are mostly the practice owner talking.
- Drive and coachability. You want to get better quickly, and you act on feedback rather than defend against it.
- Resilience and pace. You will be told no often, and the job is to learn from it and keep going.
- Comfort with software. You can learn a deep product quickly and demo it confidently.
- Discipline with your pipeline, your follow-ups and your CRM.
- Willingness to work US business hours and give US practices reliable coverage. From New Zealand that means early starts, with some overlap with our team here.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. We care about what you can do, not where you studied.
Bonus points
- You have sold to healthcare, mental health or allied health practices, or sold practice management, EHR or medical billing software.
- Some familiarity with US insurance workflows: claims, superbills, ERAs or credentialing.
- Experience selling a product with a free or self-serve tier.
- Hands-on with Pipedrive or a similar CRM.
How we work
We are a global, remote, mission-driven team, and we hire people who do not need to be managed into caring. Four things we hold to:
- Radical accessibility. Beautiful software should be accessible to every health practitioner around the world.
- Collaboration. People do their best work when they do it together.
- Customization. Practitioners deserve to work according to their own needs, not someone else’s.
- Modern technology. Technology can change the future of healthcare for both patients and practitioners.
In practice that means independent thinkers, high standards, real ownership and direct communication.
You will work closely with leadership who have built products at Xero, EzyVet, Halter and Serato, and you will join early in a new market, with real room to grow as the team does.
