MSIG USA continues to grow!
Company Overview:
MSIG USA is the US-based subsidiary of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Inc., one of the world’s top P&C carriers and a global Class 15 insurer, with A+ ratings and a reach that spans 40+ countries and regions. Leveraging our 350-year heritage, MSIG USA brings the financial strength, expertise, and global footprint to offer commercial insurance solutions that address your business’s unique risks.
About the Role
We are seeking a Junior AI Polyglot Engineer to join a product domain team within our Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance business, supporting areas such as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Reinsurance. This role combines foundational software engineering skills with AI-assisted development practices, using AI coding agents to accelerate learning, development, and delivery while maintaining engineering accountability.
As part of the team, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of business technology capabilities across applications, services, integrations, databases, data movement workflows, and automation. You will work alongside experienced engineers to understand business requirements, implement solutions, test changes, and support production systems.
This role is organized around business capabilities rather than technology layers. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple technologies and engineering disciplines, developing the skills needed to deliver complete business solutions.
Our technology stack includes .NET/C#, React, SQL, Azure, Python, and data integration technologies, including Azure Data Factory. Agentic software development is central to how we deliver solutions. You will learn to direct AI coding agents through implementation, testing, and troubleshooting while developing the ability to independently evaluate and validate their output.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of applications and business technology solutions within an assigned domain.
- Develop an understanding of business workflows, requirements, data, and system dependencies to support effective engineering decisions.
- Implement features and enhancements across user interfaces, services, APIs, databases, integrations, and data movement workflows.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to clarify requirements, understand acceptance criteria, and deliver assigned work.
- Use AI coding agents for code exploration, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation, while reviewing and validating generated output.
- Learn to break development requirements into well-defined tasks and provide effective instructions and context to AI coding agents.
- Build and maintain reliable applications and data workflows using established patterns for validation, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD processes, deployment, and production troubleshooting.
- Follow enterprise architecture, security, data protection, and governance standards, including approved and responsible use of AI coding agents.
- Continuously develop technical skills, business-domain knowledge, and proficiency in agentic software development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational programming skills in at least one language, such as C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, APIs, databases, testing, and debugging.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with web application development, cloud technologies, or data integration concepts.
- Hands-on exposure to AI coding agents beyond basic auto-complete, including code generation, debugging, testing, or implementation tasks.
- Ability to review, understand, and validate AI-generated code with appropriate guidance.
- Familiarity with Git, version control, and collaborative software development practices.
- Willingness to learn multiple technologies, adapt to unfamiliar systems, and develop cross-stack engineering capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
- Internship, academic project, or professional experience developing applications using .NET/C#, React, Python, or similar technologies.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, cloud-based applications, or deployment workflows.
- Experience with data integration, movement, transformation, or orchestration workflows.
- Experience using AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot or comparable tools for multi-file development, testing, or debugging.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and application monitoring.
- Exposure to Commercial P&C insurance, financial services, or other regulated business environments.
