Job Title: Junior AML Analyst

Company: Kvarn Capital Oy / Kvarn Investment Services Oy (Kvarn X)

Location: Helsinki, Finland (Remote/Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

Be part of the next generation of financial infrastructure. At Kvarn X, we are redesigning the very foundation of how financial services should work in the modern era by combining crypto-assets with traditional finance and modern payment services through innovation, transparency, and state-of-the-art technology.

Working at Kvarn X isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and deliver more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.

We are a dynamic organization specializing in payment, crypto-asset and financial services, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including AML, safeguarding customer funds, and maintaining robust internal controls. The group consists of authorized entities capable of providing payment services under Payment Institution Authorization, Crypto-asset services under CASP Authorization and financial services under Investment Firm Authorization, supervised by the FIN-FSA. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in our operations.

Role description

As we continue to expand our financial services and drive innovation, we are seeking to strengthen our regulatory compliance capabilities by recruiting a Junior AML Analyst to join our AML Operations Team (1LoD).

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our day-to-day compliance and AML operations, ensuring that our innovative platform remains secure, compliant, and trusted by our users and regulators alike. You will work closely with our compliance and operations teams, gaining hands-on experience at the cutting edge where traditional finance meets the crypto ecosystem. The role will report to the AML and ICT Risk Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • KYC/CDD Operations: Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews for new and existing corporate and individual clients.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Assist in the daily monitoring of fiat and crypto-asset transactions to identify and investigate unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Alert Investigation: Review system-generated alerts and escalate potential Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) risks to senior team members.
  • Regulatory Support: Support the 1LoD team in maintaining robust internal controls and ensuring continuous compliance with FIN-FSA regulations.
  • Data Management: Ensure all compliance documentation, risk assessments, and customer profiles are accurate, up-to-date, and safely stored.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on the latest trends in crypto-assets, traditional finance, and regulatory shifts to help optimize our internal compliance processes.

What We Are Looking ForRequired:
  • Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently completing one) from a University/University of Applied Science in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in AML, KYC, compliance, or a related operational role (relevant internships are highly valued!).
  • Industry Interest: A genuine curiosity and interest in crypto-assets, payment services, and modern financial infrastructure.
  • Mindset: A highly analytical, detail-oriented self-starter. You possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to take ownership of your tasks.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Finnish is mandatory given our FIN-FSA supervision.
  • Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scale-up environment where things change quickly and no two days are the same.
  • Technology: Real-world experience and ability to use and leverage modern AI tools.

Beneficial:
  • Experience or interest in technologies such as XML schemas and Python.
  • Proficiency with database technologies and monitoring tools such as Solidus Labs and Chainalysis.
  • Interest or experience in blockchain, crypto, and the fintech space.

💡 Why join Kvarn?

Here, you won’t be shipping features just for the sake of it. You’ll be contributing to a meaningful transformation: building secure, transparent, and high-performing services that help real people take control of their financial future.

  • Impact: A front-row seat to the future of finance, working directly with CASP, Payment, and Investment Firm authorized operations.
  • Growth: A challenging but incredibly rewarding environment where your learning curve will be steep, and your career progression will be in your own hands.
  • Flexibility: A modern work environment based in Helsinki with flexible remote/hybrid working options.
  • Culture: A fun, driven, and highly professional team that supports each other while building state-of-the-art financial solutions.
