Junior Interior Designer

Description In this role, you will work directly with our talented Corporate Interiors department on array of commercial and workplace projects that span not just Ireland and UK, but across the globe. Overall responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to): Provides assistance throughout the interior design process under routine guidance; contributes to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and Living Design. Participates in preparing contract documents, including but not limited to floor plans and details, reflected ceiling plans, mill work design, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules. Assists in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations. Learns to manipulate basic design elements such as spatial layout, color, light, texture, and scale. Researches manufacturers and contributes to selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting for interior application, ensuring sustainability goals of the firm are maintained. Contributes to programming and space planning analysis and provides area calculations. Proactively asks questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large. Uses a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organised, timely, and consistent way. Provides support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities. Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others. Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups. Assists with coordination among partners and consultants. Critical baseline skills, abilities and certifications: Proficiencies: Personable, presentable and articulate. Sound understanding of building codes and guidelines as applicable. Sound knowledge in programming and site analysis. Strong time management and organisational skills. Strong understanding of conducting field observations and measurements. Strong understanding of furniture and interior product specifications.
