I'm looking for a Junior IT Recruiter to work alongside me at Oliver James in Brussels. You'll learn how to find, qualify and build relationships with IT professionals, helping us fill roles with the right people.



This role is 100% focused on candidates. There is no business development, client prospecting or responsibility for winning new clients. Your focus will be on building a strong candidate network within your IT specialisation and matching those people with opportunities we're already working on.



What you'll do

• Find the right people. Use LinkedIn Recruiter, our database and referrals to identify IT professionals who match our recruitment needs.
• Start conversations. Reach out to candidates, introduce relevant opportunities and get them interested in speaking with you.
• Get to know your candidates. Run qualification calls to understand their experience, technical skills, career goals, availability and salary or rate expectations.
• Build lasting relationships. Stay in regular contact with promising candidates, including those who aren't ready to move yet.
• Know who's ready for their next move. Maintain an up-to-date shortlist of qualified, engaged candidates so we can respond quickly when a suitable role comes in.
• Keep things organised. Record useful notes and next steps in our recruitment system, making sure conversations lead to proper follow-up.
• Work closely with me. Understand the requirements of each role, share what you're hearing from candidates and help identify the strongest matches

Who we're looking for



You don't need recruitment experience or a technical background. We're looking for someone who wants to learn and is willing to put in the work.



You'll be a good fit if you:

• Speak fluent French and English. Dutch is a plus.
• Enjoy speaking with people and feel comfortable picking up the phone.
• Are curious enough to go beyond a CV and understand what someone actually does and wants.
• Can stay organised while following up with several candidates at different stages.
• Keep going when someone doesn't reply or an initial approach doesn't work.
• Welcome feedback and want to improve.
• Have an interest in technology and are willing to learn the differences between IT roles.

What you'll learn



You'll receive hands-on training and work closely with an experienced headhunter specialising in the Belgian software engineering market.



We'll cover how to search effectively, approach candidates, run useful qualification calls and build a network that you know well.



You'll also develop your understanding of IT specialisations so you can have increasingly confident and relevant conversations.



As you progress, you'll take more ownership of your candidate network and become someone people turn to when they're considering their next career move.
