Colleagues collaborate with lawyers, clients and teams across IT, Risk, Cyber Security, Procurement and other Business Services functions. The role operates within a firmwide framework while allowing for relevant practice and specialist expertise
Role and key responsibilities
As a Junior Legal Technologist, you will contribute to projects, client matters and Legal Technology solutions while building technical, legal-process and stakeholder capability. You will take ownership of defined activities or workstreams and may deliver these independently, with guidance and end-to-end accountability retained by a more senior colleague.

- Take ownership of defined project elements such as requirements capture, configuration, testing, documentation, data preparation, training, user support or maintenance, with appropriate guidance.
- Work directly with lawyers, clients and colleagues to understand legal processes, user needs and intended outcomes, participating in meetings and client-facing activity where appropriate.
- Configure, test, document and support approved Legal Technology solutions, resolving straightforward issues and escalating complex or material matters promptly.
- Support the delivery of client-facing or matter-related work as the technology contributor, while a more senior colleague retains accountability for the overall project or solution.
- Support demonstrations, communications, training and adoption activity so that technology and new ways of working become embedded.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, user experience, quality or efficiency and contribute ideas to the wider project team.
- Develop capability in workflow, automation, data, collaboration tools and approved AI and GenAI technologies.
- Document solutions, decisions and lessons learned to support continuity, supportability and knowledge reuse.
- Manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and use licences, data and supplier support responsibly.
- Records time accurately where required and understands how own contribution supports chargeable and non-chargeable activity.
- Work within the firm’s information security, data protection, risk, procurement and quality requirements.
Skills & experience
- Experience of working with technology, workflow, automation, data or AI-enabled solutions gained through education, internships, work experience or previous employment.
- Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field (e.g. technology, law, data, business) is desirable but not essential.
- An interest in how technology can improve legal-service delivery and client outcomes.

- Experience of using generative AI tools to support day-to-day work, with an understanding of their capabilities, limitations and responsible use.
