Job Title: Junior Motion Designer
Company: DriverReviews
Location: Edinburgh (4 days in office)
About Us
Consumer reviews have become a hugely important source of reassurance for consumers shopping online. When you are online searching for a hotel, a new TV, a new pair of trainers or a light bulb, chances are that you have read and been influenced by the consumer reviews that you have read of real customers sharing their real-world experiences and insights of a product.
DriverReviews was launched in 2021 and has quickly grown to become Europe’s largest verified tyre reviews platform, partnering with the largest online tyre retailers and tyre manufacturers to collect and syndicate more than 750,000 tyre reviews from genuine, verified motorists. Our aim is to be the most globally recognised and trusted tyre reviews platform and we are currently seeking to appoint several new roles to support the business in this next phase of exciting growth plans.
DriverReviews is now an established but young business with a start-up mentality. We are ambitious and have high expectations for growth. We are looking for smart, like-minded people to join us on our journey.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Motion Designer to join within the Post-Production team, supporting the creation, versioning, and publishing of high-impact animation content across multiple DriverReviews channels.
Working closely with the Video Production Lead and the wider Growth team, this role focuses heavily on producing and scaling our fast-paced animated content across different global markets. You will help deliver clear, accurate automotive and tyre insights by transforming data into engaging visual motion graphic content, supporting informed consumer choices while building practical, hands-on experience across video editing, platform optimisation, and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms.
Based in our Edinburgh office (4 days per week, with 1 day working from home), this position reports directly to the Video Production Lead. It is perfectly tailored for an ambitious creator looking to kick-start their motion design career, offering a unique opportunity to work with exclusive car content, gain deep insight into post-production workflows, and contribute directly to DriverReviews international growth and visibility objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, animate, and edit high impact graphics in After Effects. These videos will be designed to scale DriverReviews reach and engagement across multiple countries.
- Understand “expressions” and mogrt files in After Effects for scalable solutions.
- Transform complex tyre telemetry, automotive data, and consumer review insights into engaging, easy to understand motion graphics and animations.
- Support the Post-Production team by organising, versioning, and maintaining visual assets and templates for multi-market distribution.
- Assist with updating existing video assets, ensuring on-screen graphics, branding, and statistics remain accurate and current.
Skills & Experience
- Experience and a strong personal portfolio demonstrating proficiency in animation and video editing software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
- An understanding of the pacing, hooks, and visual trends that drive successful content on video led social channels (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels).
- The ability to take technical automotive topics or review statistics and present them visually and clearly to a non-technical audience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where quick turnaround times are essential for scaling content across multiple countries.
- A genuine interest in cars, motorsport, or automotive lifestyle content is beneficial.
- Fluency in German, Spanish, or French is advantageous for managing multi-country video localisation, but not essential.
Benefits
As well as a competitive annual salary based on experience, the successful candidate will also receive:
- This role offers flexible working hours. While the standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm with a one-hour lunch break, start and finish times are flexible.
- Flexible hybrid working arrangement (4 days in the office, 1 day from home)
- Holiday entitlement of 31 days including public holidays (including your birthday)
- Colleague discretionary bonus scheme of up to 12% of base salary dependent on hitting targets
- Pension – employer contributions of 5%
- Perkbox membership
- Cycle to work scheme
- 1 set of free tyres per year after completion of probation period
- Life Assurance of 5 x basic salary upon appointment
- Private Health Insurance for you after one year of service
- Free counselling service and mental health support
- Opportunity to be part of a fast-growing and ambitious start up environment
