We are partnering with a large, values-driven organisation seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Payroll Officer to join their established People & Culture team.

The Opportunity:
Working as part of a two-person payroll team, you will support the end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for approximately 2,500 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the end-to-end processing of a high-volume fortnightly payroll
- Supporting payroll processing and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
- Assisting with payroll reconciliations, validations and adjustments
- Responding to employee payroll enquiries and escalating more complex matters when required
- Learning and applying payroll legislation, Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions
- Assisting with payroll-related matters including:
- Long Service Leave
- Terminations
- Redundancies
- Workers Compensation payments and reimbursements
- Supporting salary packaging and novated lease arrangements
- Maintaining accurate payroll records
- Assisting with payroll compliance and reporting
- Working closely with the wider HR and People & Culture team
- Contributing to process improvements and developing your payroll knowledge
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Some exposure to payroll, finance, administration or a related area is advantageous, but not essential
- A genuine interest in building a career in payroll
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
- The ability to follow processes and work to deadlines
- A proactive and positive approach to your work
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Previous experience in a high-volume environment will be viewed favourably
- Salary 60,000-80,000 + super + salary sacrifice, dependent on experience
