Company: Growth Lab
Location: Remote
Type: Full-time
Compensation: Salary or KPI-based structure, depending on experience
Growth Lab is a communications agency specializing in crypto, digital assets, and institutional finance. We help companies build credibility and secure coverage across leading international media, including Bloomberg, Reuters, Financial Times, CNBC, CoinDesk, and The Block.
We're looking for a proactive, crypto-native PR executive who is deeply plugged into the industry, follows the news obsessively, and knows how to turn developments into media opportunities.
- Media outreach: Research journalists, build targeted media lists, write personalized pitches, manage follow-ups, and develop media relationships.
- Breaking news PR: Monitor news and identify opportunities to pitch client commentary, expert quotes, and interviews, often within tight deadlines.
- Research: Track industry developments, journalist coverage, relevant conversations, and emerging narratives.
- Content: Draft press releases, media pitches, executive talking points, interview briefs, and other communications materials.
- Media coordination: Arrange interviews, manage journalist requests, coordinate announcements and embargoes, and track coverage.
- Reporting: Maintain outreach databases, track media opportunities and results, and support client reporting.
You must be genuinely crypto-native and online.
- Deep crypto knowledge: Strong understanding of DeFi, tokenization, RWAs, liquidity, collateral, stablecoins, staking, institutional adoption, and broader crypto markets.
- Active on Crypto Twitter (X): You follow founders, researchers, protocols, journalists, and industry conversations daily. You know what's happening without needing someone to brief you.
- Strong news instincts: You can recognize a relevant story, identify which journalists might care, and quickly develop a compelling pitch.
- Fast and responsive: You're comfortable reacting to breaking news, urgent journalist requests, and occasional time-sensitive opportunities outside regular working hours.
- Excellent English writing: You can produce concise, accurate, engaging pitches without generic PR language.
- Research skills: You know how to find journalists, understand their coverage, verify information, and identify relevant angles.
- Proactive and independent: You spot opportunities yourself, take ownership of tasks, and follow through.
- Organized: You can manage multiple clients, journalist conversations, and deadlines simultaneously.
Previous PR, journalism, or media relations experience is a plus. Strong crypto knowledge, excellent writing, and initiative matter more than a specific degree or job title.
You'll be evaluated on the quality and relevance of your media research, pitches, journalist engagement, responsiveness, and contribution to securing meaningful coverage.
Open to a fixed salary, base salary plus performance incentives, or a KPI-based structure depending on the candidate's experience and agreed responsibilities.
Send your CV, a short introduction, and your X (Twitter) profile. Tell us:
- Which areas of crypto do you follow most closely?
- What recent crypto or financial news story caught your attention, and why?
- Which crypto or financial journalists do you regularly read?
