The Role
CloudNC has built a strong social media presence through video, bringing CNC machining and our AI solutions, CAM Assist and Quote Agent, to life across Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. In terms of our videos, we aspire to be the Red Bull equivalent (!) of the machining world… so it’s a great time to get involved!
We’re looking for a Junior Videographer to help us create more engaging content in our factory in Chelmsford, Essex, alongside our established team of a machinist, videographer and producer. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their filming, editing and production skills with support from experienced colleagues.
You’ll get involved throughout the creative process, from sharing ideas and preparing for shoots to capturing footage and editing videos for social media. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who enjoy getting behind the camera and want to build on their practical filming skills.
You don’t need to be an expert in machining or AI. We’re looking for creativity, curiosity, a good foundation in video and enthusiasm for learning how to make technical subjects interesting and accessible.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Filming and editing video content for our social channels, working alongside our existing videographer, producer and machinist.
  • Setting up and operating camera, lighting and audio equipment to capture high-quality footage, with support on more complex shoots.
  • Taking individual videos from brief through to finished edit, using feedback from the team to refine your work.
  • Creating short- and longer-form edits with strong storytelling, pacing and visual appeal, adapting content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Working on product videos for our CAM Assist and Quote Agent solutions, showing specific applications of the products and how they help accelerate machining processes.
  • Contributing ideas for videos, suggesting creative approaches and spotting opportunities to capture interesting content during shoots.
  • Preparing videos for publication, including colour correction, audio adjustments, subtitles and platform-specific formatting.
  • Keeping footage and project files organised and managing your tasks to meet agreed production deadlines.
  • Reviewing content performance with the team and applying what you learn to improve future videos.

What We’re Looking For
  • Practical experience filming and editing videos, with examples that demonstrate your technical skills and creative approach. This could come from a previous role, freelance work, education or substantial personal projects.
  • Confidence using cameras, lighting and audio equipment to capture well-composed, well-lit footage with clear sound.
  • A good working knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, with the ability to take footage through to a finished edit.
  • A feel for storytelling, pacing and what makes content engaging, particularly across social media platforms.
  • An understanding of colour correction, audio adjustments and export settings for online video.
  • The ability to work independently on an agreed brief, manage your time and deliver to deadlines, while knowing when to ask for input.
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for developing your skills through feedback and working alongside experienced colleagues.
  • Curiosity about technology and a willingness to learn how to make our products and the machining industry accessible to different audiences.

Helpful, but Not Essential
  • Experience creating short-form videos for social media.
  • Familiarity with basic motion graphics or Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience uploading and scheduling social content, including writing titles and captions.
  • An interest in engineering, manufacturing or how things are made.
  • Any further design or creative skills, such as still photography or graphic design.

Show Us Your Work
We’d love to see examples of videos you’ve filmed or edited - personal projects, student work and social videos are all welcome. Tell us what you contributed to each example so we can understand your skills and creative approach.
