Role Overview

You will be the human quality layer in our English-to-Spanish adaptation workflow. This is primarily a proofreading, localization review, and quality assurance role, not a from-scratch creative writing job. You will take AI-generated Spanish scripts and turn them into clean, consistent, AI-voice-ready scripts that are ready for production. You'll work closely with Senior Writers, AI production team, and Voice Artists, and your reviews will help improve the quality of our adaptations over time.

You will then run the English Scripts through our AI adaptation tool to generate Spanish scripts. Most of your day goes to the careful line-by-line review of that AI-adapted scripts: fixing errors, smoothing phrasing, checking continuity, and making sure the script is ready for AI voice production. You will also apply feedback from Senior Writers,AI Production team, and voice artists, and log any recurring AI issues you spot.

Key Responsibilities

1. Proofread and Refine AI-Adapted Scripts

  • Review AI-generated Spanish scripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, accents, sentence structure, and register.

  • Catch mistranslations, literal or awkward phrasing, missing context, dropped lines, and tonal inconsistencies against the English source.

  • Make sure the adaptation keeps the meaning, tone, emotion, and narrative intent of the original.

  • Check that dialogue sounds natural for each character and situation, and that the Spanish reads fluently rather than like a translation.

  • Align every script with Pocket FM's editorial standards and deliver clean, production-ready drafts.

  • 2. Make Scripts AI-Voice Friendly

  • Format scripts correctly for the AI voice pipeline, with clear speaker labels, clean dialogue and narration separation, and no stray symbols or formatting errors.

  • Check that emotion tags are present, accurate, and matched to the scene and character, wherever they are required.

  • Use punctuation, sentence length, and rhythm that guide AI voices toward natural pacing and delivery.

  • Rewrite anything an AI voice is likely to mispronounce or misread, such as numbers, dates, abbreviations, symbols, foreign words, and unusual names.

  • Flag lines that are too long, too dense, or hard to perform so they can be reworked before production.

  • 3. Build Localization Sheets and Keep Them Consistent

  • Prepare localization sheets and concept notes that adapt names, locations, entities, and cultural references from English-language settings to Spanish-speaking contexts.

  • Make sure localization choices are culturally appropriate, audience-friendly, and applied consistently across every episode.

  • Flag references, idioms, humor, or situations that may confuse or fall flat with Spanish-speaking listeners, and suggest alternatives.

  • 4. Protect Story Continuity

  • Keep character names, relationships, places, terminology, and recurring story elements consistent across episodes.

  • Make sure the adapted episodes follow the original storyline, character arcs, emotional beats, and episode flow.

  • Track plot details and tone across a series so nothing drifts from one episode to the next.

  • 5. Deliver Quality at Scale

  • Balance speed and accuracy in a high-volume workflow, keeping your attention to detail sharp on repetitive review work.

  • Make sure every final submission is accurate, consistent, localized, and ready for the next production stage.

  • 6. Act on Feedback and Improve the Process

  • Revise scripts based on feedback from Senior Writers, editorial and production teams, and listener comments, and apply those lessons to future scripts.

  • Document recurring AI issues in translation, tone, formatting, or storytelling, and share them with the team with suggested fixes.

  • Review published episodes and user comments to see how adaptations land with listeners, and give structured feedback.

  • Qualifications

    Must have

  • Native Spanish with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Strong English comprehension, to interpret source scripts accurately

  • Bachelor's degree in Literature, Languages, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field

  • Sharp attention to detail, with an eye for linguistic, contextual, and continuity errors

  • Ability to stay accurate and consistent across high-volume deliverables

  • Comfort with structured workflows, feedback cycles, and deadline-driven production

  • Clear communication and collaboration with Senior Writers and cross-functional teams

  • Nice to have

  • Experience in proofreading, editing, translation review, localization, or content QA

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted writing, translation, or adaptation tools

  • Basic understanding of storytelling, such as narrative structure, character, and pacing

  • Ability to read user feedback and spot patterns

  • Who Thrives Here

You enjoy working with language at the sentence level. You catch the small things, like a stiff phrase, a wrong accent, or a line an AI voice will stumble over, and you care whether a story sounds right to a listener. You stay focused through large volumes of review and treat feedback as a way to get better.

    Why It Matters

AI helps us adapt faster, but human review is what makes a localized story feel natural, emotional, and relevant. Your work directly shapes the listening experience of audiences.

This is a remote, deliverable-based contractor role with an expected output of approximately 300 localized and AI-adapted scripts per month (1,200–2,000 words per episode).
