Department: Omni Protect

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Field-based

Reporting To: Managing Director for Omni Protect

Description

Help financial advisers across the North of England deliver better protection outcomes while growing their businesses.

Role Overview:

At Omni Protect, part of the Fintel group, we're looking for a Key Account Manager to support adviser firms across the North of England. Internally, this role is called Protection Business Development Manager.

Rather than winning new business, you'll work with existing Omni Protect member firms to help them maximise the value of our protection proposition, increase client protection uptake and improve adviser engagement.

This is a highly consultative role combining relationship management, coaching, commercial support and protection expertise. You'll be trusted to manage your own territory, build meaningful adviser relationships and make a genuine impact on client outcomes.

What's in it for me?
  • Join a market-leading protection proposition within the UK's largest provider of fintech and support services to the intermediary market.
  • Enjoy the autonomy of a field-based role with the flexibility to balance face-to-face meetings and virtual appointments.
  • Work with an established portfolio of existing member firms, you'll focus on relationship growth rather than cold business development.

What you'll do

  • Build trusted relationships with adviser firms across your territory, becoming the go-to contact for protection support and guidance.
  • Increase engagement with Omni Protect's services, tools and specialist support to help firms grow protection business levels.
  • Deliver adviser meetings, workshops, roadshows and review sessions to drive awareness and adoption of the protection proposition.
  • Support firms in improving client outcomes, advice quality and commercial performance through effective use of protection solutions.
  • Manage your own diary and territory plan, maintaining a regular cadence of virtual and face-to-face appointments.
  • Monitor performance, identify opportunities for growth and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional adviser support.

What you'll need to succeed:

Essential requirements:
  • Knowledge of the protection market and protection products, including life, critical illness and income protection.
  • Experience working with financial advisers, mortgage advisers, wealth management firms or intermediary businesses.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A self-starter who can effectively manage their own diary, territory and appointment schedule.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to a car and willingness to travel across the region.
Desirable requirements:
  • Consultant role within financial services.
  • Experience gained with a protection provider, distributor, mortgage club, network or adviser support business.
  • Understanding of Consumer Duty and adviser regulatory requirements.
  • Experience delivering training, workshops, events or business development support to advisers.
Your approach to work:
  • Proactive and organised - you'll be setting your own appointments
  • Professional with strong communication skills - your clients will generally be firm Principals.
  • Naturally consultative - curious, interested to learn
  • Builds trust quickly and maintains long-term relationships

Important to know:

Location:
This is a field-based role. The majority of your Protection Club members will be located between north of Birmingham through to Manchester and across to the metropolitan areas of Yorkshire. The patch does go right up to the Scottish border though.

The ideal location for a candidate will be somewhere in the Greater Manchester to Yorkshire areas so that you can get north or south relatively easily.

Right to Work:
Applicants must already hold a legal right to work in the UK without time restrictions and without the need for future sponsorship. We are unable to provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
