The Position
The Knowledge Management Specialist supports the day-to-day administration, maintenance, quality assurance, and execution of ASQ's enterprise knowledge, search, metadata, content-indexing, and AI-readiness standards. The role applies established knowledge architecture and governance standards, so digital content is consistently classified, tested, documented, and maintained across ASQ's search, web, content, and AI-enabled platforms.
Experience with enterprise search platforms, CMS or content platforms, digital asset management, generative AI or retrieval-based knowledge systems, search analytics, content migrations, indexing, or large-scale content-quality initiatives is a plus.
The hourly pay range for this role is $29-$36.50/hr. Any extended offer is based on the candidate's experience and overall fit for the role.
Main Responsibilities
- Apply and maintain approved metadata, taxonomy, tagging, controlled-vocabulary, and content-classification standards and coordinate routine corrections with content owners.
- Support content ingestion and indexing, monitor source health and failures, validate new and updated content, and coordinate routine remediation with technical teams and vendors.
- Support day-to-day search-platform configuration, relevance testing, synonyms, filters, facets, dictionaries, and routine search-quality maintenance within established standards.
- Maintain approved knowledge sources and execute established retrieval, content-quality, and AI-readiness tests to identify missing, inaccurate, incomplete, or poorly retrieved content.
- Provide metadata, indexing, inventory, quality-assurance, and documentation support for content migrations, platform changes, and large-scale content-governance initiatives.
- Maintain operating procedures, standards documentation, change logs, inventories, testing scripts, and reference materials and support routine training for content creators and publishers.
- Compile routine search, indexing, metadata, and knowledge-quality reporting; track issues and remediation; identify recurring patterns; and recommend operational improvements.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Hybrid Office Environment with Tuesdays & Wednesdays in office at the Milwaukee Headquarters location.

Bachelor's degree in information science, communications, marketing, business, or a related discipline

A Minimum of 2 years of experience in knowledge management and website content management
- Or an equivalent combination.
- Must be able to comply with attendance and timeliness policies.
- This role is not eligible for U.S. immigration sponsorship (e.g., STEM OPT, TN, H-1B, or other work visa).

ASQ is conveniently situated in downtown Milwaukee, immediately adjacent to major freeway exits and the robust downtown economy. We also offer a hybrid work environment that offers staff the option of working from home up to 3 days per week.
