Role Description This full-time remote role is for a Korean Medical Interpreter supporting patients, healthcare professionals, and client organizations. The interpreter will provide accurate and culturally sensitive real-time interpretation between Korean and English during medical consultations, follow-up calls, and patient support interactions. Daily tasks include listening carefully to speakers, conveying meaning and intent in both languages, and ensuring that medical information, instructions, and consent details are clearly understood. The interpreter will also assist with occasional written translation of medical documents or patient communication, maintain confidentiality in accordance with healthcare privacy regulations, and adhere to company quality standards and call center protocols. Collaboration with supervisors and team members to improve service quality, participate in training, and follow established scripts or guidelines is also part of the role.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Medical Interpretation, Interpreting, and Simultaneous Interpretation in Korean and English.
  • Ability to accurately use Medical Terminology in both Korean and English, with clear understanding of clinical and healthcare contexts.
  • Competence in Translation of short medical documents or patient communications when required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Korean and English, with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in medical or healthcare interpreting, call centers, or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with patient confidentiality standards and healthcare privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection, suitable remote work environment, and ability to work full-time scheduled shifts.
  • Relevant certification or training in medical interpreting or language services is a plus.
