Kotlin Developer

• 3 days in the office Downtown Vancouver

Role: Software Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote or On-Site (Vancouver Tech Office)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to help build and maintain our finance integration platform. You will work in an established Kotlin codebase connecting retail, order-management, and finance systems with third-party services—ensuring global invoice flows remain accurate, traceable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain inbound/outbound invoice integrations and data mappings in Kotlin.
• Implement resilient error handling and interfaces for APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Support AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Tax, Security) to deliver auditable solutions.
• Leverage AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot/Codex) responsibly to accelerate delivery and documentation.

Qualifications:

• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience in Kotlin; proficiency using AWS and Terraform.
• Proven background in distributed systems, REST APIs, event streaming, and data validation.
• Strong commitment to automated testing, code quality, and data security.
• Nice to have: Kafka, ERP/OMS integrations, tax reporting, or electronic invoicing.
