About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as a senior litigator handling a docket of workplace-law disputes with substantial independence, and guide junior lawyers along the way. The position suits a seasoned California attorney with strong wage and hour credentials who a partner can rely on to drive cases forward.
What you'll do
- Take full charge of a caseload of workplace disputes from intake through resolution, with only light partner involvement.
- Defend employers against individual claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, pay practices and accommodation.
- Work on representative and class-wide wage matters arising under California law.
- Conduct examinations of witnesses in pretrial discovery and prepare witnesses for their own testimony.
- Prepare and argue motions that seek to resolve cases before trial.
- Coach and oversee associates working on the team.
What we're looking for
- Roughly 9 to 12 years practicing in California workplace litigation, with a particular emphasis on wage and hour.
- A Juris Doctorate and an active California bar license.
- A track record of running cases autonomously without close supervision.
- Practical courtroom and discovery experience, including motion practice.
- Prior experience guiding or developing junior attorneys.
- Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills, supported by a strong academic record.
- Willingness to share conflicts information before an offer is made.
- Residence in California or readiness to relocate there.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 280,000 to 305,000 per year
Location and work model
