About the Role
Join a California labor and employment litigation team handling a broad caseload for public entities and private employers. This role combines independent case management, courtroom advocacy, and practical employment law counseling.
What You'll Do
Independently manage labor and employment litigation matters from intake through resolution.
Handle depositions, trials, arbitrations, discovery, and motion practice in state and federal courts.
Defend and prosecute discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour class action matters.
Respond to administrative charges and proceedings, including matters before the EEOC and California employment agencies.
Advise public entities and private clients on federal and state employment law compliance.
Work with colleagues across California offices and travel as needed for proceedings and client meetings.
What We're Looking For
At least 6 years of labor and employment litigation experience, with the ability to manage a caseload independently.
Active California Bar membership and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Experience with depositions, trials, arbitrations, motions, discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour class actions, and administrative proceedings.
Background advising employers on federal and state employment law.
Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, Microsoft Office, and document management systems.
Strong written advocacy skills and an available writing sample.
A portable book of business of approximately $300,000 is required for Senior Counsel-level candidates.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $200,000 to $270,000. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location
Hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote. Wednesday is an in-office day. Candidates may work from the Oakland or San Diego office, with Oakland as the primary location.
