Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Laboratory Informatics & Technology Architect, Full-Time Remote, to join our team. Must reside in one the following states to be considered: Alabama, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia. This position will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, and delivery of technology solutions that support the future of laboratory medicine, with a strong focus on digital pathology. Qualified applicants will be experienced laboratory informatics or healthcare IT professionals with knowledge of anatomic pathology workflows, digital imaging, laboratory information systems, electronic medical records, and clinical and research laboratory operations. The architect position will shape the roadmap for laboratory applications, digital pathology platforms, and instrument and system integrations. They will partner with pathologists, laboratory leaders, operational teams, vendors, and Information Systems teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise standards. As a technical leader and trusted advisor, the Architect will guide digital pathology initiatives, laboratory application implementations, production issue resolution, and long-term system planning while serving as a vendor contact, stakeholder partner, and mentor to team members. Essential Functions Support digital pathology implementation planning, including current-state workflow assessment, future-state design, stakeholder readiness, validation and testing strategy, go-live preparation, and post-live optimization. Partner with pathology, laboratory operations, vendors, and Information Systems teams to support whole slide imaging, image management, scanner connectivity, storage planning, interoperability, and integrations with laboratory and electronic medical record systems. Develop technology strategies and roadmaps for medical and research laboratory applications, digital pathology platforms, and electronic medical record solutions that support organizational goals. Lead enterprise architecture design, development, and maintenance for laboratory applications, technology platforms, and electronic medical record information systems. Assumes a significant role in establishing and maintaining technology governance processes such as an Architecture Review Board and/or Data Governance Committee. Research, evaluate, and select appropriate technology solutions; develop technical content for RFI/RFP processes; lead evaluations; and assist with budget estimates for selected solutions. Provide strategic guidance for laboratory application implementations, daily support needs, vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and end-user adoption. Leads root cause, troubleshooting, or problem resolution teams to resolve chronic production problems. Presents findings, recommendations, and specifications in formal reports and/or oral presentations to the Supervisor, Project Manager, and/or Peers. Review solution objectives and constraints, confirm alignment with enterprise architecture, and identify implementation risks, dependencies, and operational impacts. Job Requirements Master’s degree required. Equivalent work experience may be considered for internal candidates only in lieu of education requirements. Minimum of five or more years of information technology experience working in large-scale, heterogeneous IT environments required. CIIP Certification required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology certification strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical, clinical, and imaging workflow concepts clearly. Experience collaborating with business leaders, IT leaders, vendors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders. Creativity in designing practical, effective technology solutions. Experience with digital pathology, anatomic pathology workflows, imaging platforms and laboratory information systems. Project management certification and/or experience is preferred. If an RN or other Clinical Provider must maintain that license (preferred). Position requires 30% travel to Wilmington, DE and Orlando, FL. #LI-EP1
