About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Laravel Developer to join a growing software engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing internal software platforms and client-facing web applications.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative products, build new features, improve existing systems, and work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers across international teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing scalable solutions, solving complex technical challenges, and supporting the evolution of a modern software ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using the Laravel framework.
• Design and implement new features, modules, and functionality for internal and external software platforms.
• Develop models, routes, scopes, methods, and business logic components.
• Enhance and modify existing systems to support evolving business requirements.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Apply best practices in software development, coding standards, and system architecture.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the ongoing modernization and enhancement of the existing technology stack.
• Contribute ideas and technical recommendations to improve systems and user experiences.
• Assist with mentoring junior developers and supporting team growth as opportunities arise.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Laravel development.

• Strong experience working with Laravel and SQL databases.

• Good understanding of REST API principles and implementation.

• Strong understanding of SOLID, DRY, and MVC development principles.

• Experience with:

  • Complex model relationships
  • Custom relationships and third-party package integrations
  • Eloquent ORM and raw SQL
  • Custom scopes
  • Database optimization techniques
  • Helper classes and functions
  • Extending Laravel core functionality
  • Validation
  • Notifications
  • Jobs and queues
  • API resources

• Demonstrated experience delivering real-world Laravel projects.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

• Passion for learning new technologies, programming languages, and development methodologies.

• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

• Comfortable working within Agile or Waterfall development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience writing automated tests using standard PHP testing methodologies.
• Experience using React JS with Laravel APIs.
• Experience creating technical documentation and working with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
• Knowledge of WordPress and Microsoft Excel will be an added advantage.
