Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Lawyer who holds a current Australian Practising Certificate (PC) to support Australian law firms across a broad range of legal matters. This role is ideal for a lawyer with experience in the Australian legal system who is looking to work remotely while providing high-quality legal support to clients and legal teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, advising on Australian legal matters, and collaborating with solicitors and clients to deliver practical and commercially focused legal solutions. Experience in one or more areas of practice, such as commercial law, property, litigation, employment, family law, or wills and estates, will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on matters governed by Australian law.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and case summaries.
- Draft, review, and amend legal documents, contracts, court documents, and correspondence.
- Assist with case strategy, matter management, and legal compliance.
- Liaise with clients, barristers, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate legal records and ensure matters are progressed efficiently.
- Stay informed of legislative and regulatory changes affecting Australian legal practice.
- Collaborate effectively with remote legal teams while managing multiple matters and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- Must hold a current unrestricted Australian Practising Certificate (PC).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-admission legal experience practicing Australian law.
- Strong knowledge of Australian legislation, legal procedures, and professional conduct obligations.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience using Australian legal research platforms and practice management software is an advantage.
