Lead AIT Engineer – Constellation Apply Now ReOrbit is looking for a Lead AIT Engineer – Constellation to define and lead the Assembly, Integration and Test strategy for scalable satellite constellation production. As our Lead AIT Engineer – Constellation, you will play a key role in shaping how ReOrbit integrates, verifies and scales spacecraft production. You will define the AIT architecture, test flows and verification strategies required to move from individual satellite integration towards efficient, repeatable and increasingly automated constellation-scale production. This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, production and AIT. You will work across mechanical, electrical and software domains, driving design-for-AIT and design-for-robotics principles into spacecraft and subsystem development. You will lead cross-functional teams and work closely with System Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance to ensure that spacecraft are designed not only to perform in orbit, but also to be integrated, tested and manufactured efficiently at scale. It's an exciting chance to join a dynamic start-up, with the opportunity to make a real impact, to reach our goal of pushing the boundaries of space data transfer. Responsibilities Define the AIT architecture, test flows and verification strategies for constellation-scale satellite production. Drive design-for-AIT and design-for-robotics principles into system and subsystem development. Ensure mechanical and electrical interface compatibility to enable efficient and automated integration processes. Develop and enable robotic manufacturing and integration capabilities, including alignment, fastening, mating and verification processes. Lead system integration and test campaigns, including functional and environmental testing. Develop and maintain AIT plans, procedures and verification documentation. Define integration and verification approaches that improve efficiency, repeatability and scalability across spacecraft production. Ensure compliance with applicable ECSS standards and internal quality processes. Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across System Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance. Identify integration risks, technical bottlenecks and opportunities for automation, driving practical solutions through to implementation. Support the development and scaling of AIT capabilities as ReOrbit moves towards constellation-level production. Skills and Requirements 10+ years of experience in satellite AIT, systems engineering or integration leadership. Proven experience leading full satellite integration campaigns from assembly through verification and testing. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical integration processes. Experience with environmental testing, including TVAC, vibration and EMC. Familiarity with ECSS and/or NASA standards and associated quality and verification processes. Experience working with EGSE, MGSE and spacecraft test systems. Strong understanding of production scaling, repeatability and automation principles. Leadership experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams. A strong systems engineering mindset with the ability to connect mechanical, electrical and software domains. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering and production environments. What does ReOrbit do? ReOrbit builds the foundation for the next generation of space applications by transforming satellites into truly intelligent, interconnected platforms, defined by software. Our satellite design philosophy revolves around the idea that satellites must network, communicate with each other and thus improve mission efficiency. How can this be achieved? Thanks to a flexible software-first architecture, where all these aspects are dealt with upfront in the mission concept, as integrated functionalities. ReOrbit’s top-notch team of software engineers and system architects develop in-house software, procure hardware from the best-in-class suppliers, and seamlessly integrate the components to create flexible and secure satellites.
