We’re looking for a Lead Analyst – U.S. Data Center Finance & Investment to strengthen our intelligence offering in one of the world’s most important and rapidly evolving data center markets. Reporting to the Americas Research Manager, you will work as part of our U.S. research team while bringing specialist expertise in data center finance and investment. Your expertise will ideally extend across the U.S. market, complementing the market knowledge and research capabilities already within the team. This is an opportunity to become a leading voice within DC Byte’s U.S. research function. You’ll combine financial and market expertise with rigorous research to uncover difficult-to-access intelligence, develop our industry network, and improve the data and insights available through our platform. We’re particularly interested in candidates who understand the financial and investment dynamics of data center development. This could include project economics, financing structures, capital allocation, construction and operating costs, CapEx and OpEx, and data centers as an asset class. You may have developed this expertise through direct work in the data center sector or through substantial professional coverage of data centers within digital infrastructure, finance, investment, advisory, research, or a related field. You do not need to bring every aspect of this experience. What matters is that you have credible knowledge of data center finance and investment, a strong understanding of the U.S. market, and the ability to investigate and explain how projects are developed, funded, owned, and operated. an experienced analyst, researcher, market intelligence professional, or finance specialist with strong knowledge of the U.S. data center sector. knowledgeable about data center finance and investment, including areas such as project economics, financing structures, capital allocation, CapEx and OpEx, investment activity, or data centers as an asset class. able to analyze project economics and financing structures, or research and interpret them credibly using a range of financial, market, and industry sources. experienced in researching data centers, digital infrastructure, project finance, capital markets, investment activity, or a closely related field. able to find, assess, and connect information from industry relationships, public information, proprietary research, and AI-enabled tools. a thorough and curious researcher who can distinguish reliable intelligence from market speculation. able to explain complex financial, commercial, and market dynamics clearly. comfortable developing and maintaining a strong professional network across the U.S. data center ecosystem. able to translate complex market and financial intelligence into structured, actionable data. confident working independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across Research, Product, and Commercial teams. proactive, commercially aware, and motivated by the opportunity to shape a growing research capability. a credible and engaging communicator who is comfortable representing DC Byte with customers and across the wider industry. be a subject-matter expert on finance and investment within the U.S. data center market, bringing specialist knowledge to DC Byte’s wider research. research the financial and commercial factors shaping data center development across the US, including project investment, CapEx and OpEx, project economics, financing structures, investment timelines, ownership, and market constraints. investigate project ownership and development relationships, including the entities involved in owning, developing, funding, financing, and operating data center projects. improve DC Byte’s intelligence on funding sources, investors, lenders, partnerships, and other financing arrangements supporting data center development. build and maintain relationships with developers, investors, operators, utilities, advisers, and other industry participants. use desk research, industry conversations, proprietary sources, and AI-enabled tools to uncover and validate market intelligence. assess the quality and reliability of information before incorporating it into DC Byte’s research and platform. turn complex market intelligence into accurate, structured, and actionable data. identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities across established and developing U.S. data center markets. collaborate with Product and Research colleagues to strengthen the coverage, quality, and usefulness of our platform. share expertise with Commercial colleagues and support informed conversations with customers. contribute to the development of DC Byte’s U.S.research strategy and methodologies. provide specialist guidance to colleagues and support or lead research activity within a pod, depending on your experience. represent DC Byte’s expertise through customer conversations, industry events, media contributions, or other external opportunities. travel occasionally within the U.S.to develop industry relationships, conduct research, attend events, and represent DC Byte. 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), increasing up to 29 days Christmas office closure between Christmas and New Year Private health insurance, including dental and vision coverage Life coverage Generous anniversary rewards including career coaching, vouchers, and holiday stipend Up to one month remote working per year Home working setup stipend Free coffee, tea, drinks, and snacks in the office Hybrid working model with office attendance expected Tuesday–Thursday
