Lead Back-end Engineer

Help build the engineering foundation for Elockers' next stage of international growth. Elockers powers smart lockers at festivals, venues and events across six countries. Our platform handles real-time payments, marketplace-style payouts and high-volume sales moments where large parts of a site can sell out within minutes. We're now scaling the business and we're looking for a senior engineer who wants to have a real impact on how we build, operate and evolve the platform. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 As our Lead Engineer, you'll be the senior technical anchor of a small, hands-on engineering team. You'll combine architecture, coding and technical leadership. Working closely with the founders and commercial team, you'll turn business priorities into clear technical plans and reliable delivery. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗪𝗡 • 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and guide the evolution from our legacy monolith to microservices. • 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗿 around CI/CD, testing, documentation, security and reliability. • 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, including Adyen integrations, payouts and reconciliation. • 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 a small team of hands-on developers. • 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 through better documentation and knowledge sharing. • 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗜-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 effectively and safely. • 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘'𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 • 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 building and operating backend systems and microservices in production. • 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 with distributed systems and event-driven architecture. • 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀. Adyen is a strong plus. • 𝗣𝗛𝗣/𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 experience is a strong plus. • 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 or acting as the technical anchor of a small engineering team. • 𝗔 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 such as CI/CD and automated testing. • 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 and the ability to work directly with founders and commercial stakeholders. • 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
