Lead Business Analyst (retail banking)

Salary range: 16600-25400PLN gross

We are expanding GFT Business Consulting in Poland and are looking for a Lead Business Analyst who can combine strong banking knowledge with consulting maturity, senior stakeholder management and real ownership.

You will work on complex international banking transformation programmes across Poland, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and potentially Western Europe.

Our strongest demand is in Retail Banking, including payments, cards, deposits and accounts, customer onboarding, lending and credit, digital banking and customer journeys.

This role goes beyond leading requirements. We are looking for someone who can shape the direction of analysis, advise senior client stakeholders, connect business needs with technology and delivery, and help us build stronger long-term consulting relationships.

What you will do

• Lead complex business analysis and consulting initiatives across projects, programmes or major workstreams.

• Set direction for business analysis and ensure that outputs are aligned with client objectives and delivery needs.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders.

• Shape business capabilities, target-state processes, solution options and transformation roadmaps.

• Lead workshops and decision-making sessions with senior client stakeholders.

• Manage complex stakeholder environments, competing priorities and escalations with a high degree of autonomy.

• Connect business requirements with architecture, integration, data and delivery considerations.

• Challenge assumptions and propose practical, evidence-based recommendations rather than only documenting client input.

• Review and assure the quality of analysis deliverables across the team.

• Mentor and coach Senior and less experienced Business Analysts.

• Help define and improve BA practices, frameworks and standards within Business Consulting.

• Support proposals, pre-sales and solution shaping across banking opportunities.

• Identify new client needs and commercial opportunities where Business Consulting can add value.

• Use AI-enabled methods and tools to improve analysis, insight generation, research and delivery.

What we are looking for

• Typically 8+ years of relevant commercial experience, with clear evidence of lead-level scope and impact.

• Strong experience in business analysis, consulting, product or transformation roles within banking or financial services.

• Proven ability to lead complex analysis or consulting engagements end-to-end.

• Strong Retail Banking knowledge and practical experience in one or more areas such as payments, cards, deposits/accounts, onboarding/KYC, lending/credit or digital banking.

• Confidence working with senior client stakeholders and influencing decisions.

• Strong facilitation, communication and consultative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to structure ambiguous and complex problems and translate them into decisions, roadmaps and actionable delivery scope.

• Experience coordinating across business, product, architecture, technology and delivery teams.

• Ability to mentor analysts and raise the quality of analysis across a team.

• Very good English and strong executive communication skills.

• High level of ownership, autonomy and sound judgement.

Nice to have

• Experience across several Retail Banking product areas.

• Core banking modernisation, migration or digital transformation experience.

• Knowledge of platforms such as Thought Machine, Mambu, Flexcube, Temenos/T24 or similar.

• Experience shaping business capabilities, operating models or transformation roadmaps.

• Product Owner or product leadership experience.

• Consulting, advisory or pre-sales experience.

• Experience preparing proposals, estimates or business cases.

• API, integration, data and architecture awareness.

• Experience working with international banking clients, especially in CEE or the Middle East.

• Practical experience using generative AI in consulting, analysis or software delivery.
