Who we are
ADC is a Boutique Data and AI consultancy with offices in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark, and an award-winning data design studio (CLEVER°FRANKE) embedded in the group. We help organisations turn data and AI into real impact, leading a mission to accelerate the responsible use of Data and AI. We bring the full data value chain under one roof: from strategy and engineering to analytics, data science, and design.
We are a collective of statisticians, designers, PhDs, and agentic AI engineers with deep expertise in the industries we serve: financial services, life sciences, healthcare, the public sector, retail, agriculture, and transportation. We do not arrive with generic tools and a slide deck. We walk in, work alongside the people who know the organisation best, and build solutions that actually run.
We call ourselves Wayfinders. Our clients trust us to navigate complexity and make it real.
Shape the Future of Data-Driven Decision Making in Retail
Our Retail team is growing fast, and we need a technical leader to scale with it. We're looking for a Lead Decision Scientist who can own the technical delivery of our most advanced pricing, optimization, and forecasting projects for leading e-commerce and retail clients. Someone who can both get hands-on with the hardest modelling problems and tech-lead a project and a team through to real-world impact.
You'll work closely with our Retail Senior Manager, taking full ownership of technical delivery and project leadership, so that our senior lead can focus on growing the practice. You'll bring together forecasting andoptimization experience into pricing solutions that run live for major retailers, while mentoring the team around you and progressively deepening your causal inference toolkit.
Where you'll make an impact
Own Technical Delivery End-to-End
Tech-lead pricing, forecasting, and optimization projects from scoping to production, ensuring methodological rigor and real business impact.
Build and scale forecasting, optimization and machine learning, models tailored to retail and e-commerce pricing challenges.
Act as the hands-on technical anchor for the project, implementing and unblocking the team when needed.
Drive advanced forecasting for e-commerce pricing, connecting outputs directly to commercial and pricing strategy decisions.
Act as the go-to technical owner for pricing initiatives across retail engagements, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
Grow the Retail Practice's Technical Depth
Deepen your expertise in causal inference and advanced econometric methods.
Bridge machine learning, forecasting, optimization, and causal inference into a single coherent toolkit applied to real commercial decisions.
Mentor and upskill consultants on the team, raising the technical bar across engagements.
Help build the technical capacity the Retail practice needs to take on additional engagements.
Lead People and Projects, Not Just Models
Take full project leadership on key client engagements, while partnering closely with the Retail account lead on scoping and delivery planning.
Translate complex technical work into recommendations that resonate with both client data teams and commercial stakeholders.
Break down data science and econometric concepts into clear, practical recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate closely with clients' decision science teams, highly specialized professionals with deep quantitative backgrounds, tackling complex methodologies and operations research challenges together.
What you bring
A strong academic foundation at PhD or Master's level in a quantitative field: Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or similar (not necessarily econometrics).
6+ years of experience in data science, econometrics, data, or AI, ideally in consulting or a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience delivering impactful technical projects in consultancy or in-house at a retail/e-commerce organisation.
Hands-on expertise across forecasting, pricing, optimization, causal inference, machine learning with retail experience as a strong plus.
Ability to tech-lead a project and a team, with strong stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinking and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset - someone who thrives in a dynamic, growing environment.
Fluency in English.
