Since 1965, Stoneridge has designed and manufactured advanced, award-winning technologies including driveline and transmission actuation systems, vision systems, emissions control systems, safety systems, and security and monitoring systems for vehicle OEMs in the commercial vehicle, automotive, off-highway and agricultural vehicle markets. We’re focused on the areas of greatest market need – both today and tomorrow. Our core products and technologies are aligned with industry megatrends including safety and security, vehicle intelligence, fuel efficiency and emissions. Join the Stoneridge Team as we continue to build upon our strong history and reputation for quality products to deliver innovative products and systems that address a need, exceed our customers’ expectations, and motivate our team.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Field Systems Technician is a senior, hands-on technical leader responsible for complex vehicle system integration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and data collection. This role bridges the gap between engineering and field execution by taking new products or technical objectives, often with limited documentation, and developing safe, reliable, and repeatable methods for implementation across a variety of commercial and off-highway vehicle platforms.

The position establishes technical best practices and mentors the Field Service Technician team in developing high-quality work instructions, diagnostic procedures, repair manuals, and supporting documentation. Working closely with engineering, the Lead Field Systems Technician identifies and resolves system-level issues while improving the quality, consistency, and technical capability of the team.

· Translate new products, engineering objectives, and loosely defined technical requirements into safe, reliable, and repeatable field methods.

· Serve as the technical lead for first-time and complex installations, identifying required tools, equipment, processes, and technical information.

· Provide advanced system-level troubleshooting and root-cause support, working closely with engineering to identify and resolve integration and field issues.

· Establish and promote technical best practices, workmanship standards, and consistent field processes across the Field Service Technician team.

· Lead the development of work instructions, installation procedures, test procedures, checklists, and supporting technical documentation through coaching, technical review, and approval.

· Mentor and develop Field Service Technicians in installation, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation practices.

· Support the introduction and deployment of new products and technologies, transferring knowledge from engineering and initial field activities to the broader FST team.

· Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, documentation, training, safety, quality, and overall field execution.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

· 7+ years hands-on field service, automotive integration, prototyping, mechatronics, controls, electrical/electronic systems or comparable experience

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems without detailed work instructions
