About the Role We are seeking a Lead Front End Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the development and optimization of enterprise-grade digital commerce platforms that serve clients across North America and other global regions. You’ll work alongside senior developers and architects to build scalable backend services and user-facing features using modern technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, NestJS, and Google Cloud Platform. This role requires a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with distributed teams across various time zones. You’ll participate in team meetings, code reviews, and sprint planning sessions to ensure alignment and timely delivery of features. Key Responsibilities · Lead the development and maintenance of front-end applications using React and Next.js, ensuring high performance, scalability, and exceptional user experience · Own front-end architecture decisions and establish coding standards, best practices, and reusable component libraries for the team · Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and ensure seamless data flow between front-end and backend services · Partner with UX/UI designers to translate designs and wireframes into responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect user interfaces · Lead and mentor junior and mid-level front-end developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance · Drive integration of authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, OpenID Connect) on the front-end side · Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure front-end deployments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are smooth and reliable · Champion front-end testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing as part of the QA process · Actively participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across time zones Required Technical Skills · 8+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity · Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript · Deep expertise in React.js and Next.js as primary front-end frameworks · Strong understanding of responsive design, web accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility · Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with API contracts (Swagger/OpenAPI) · Familiarity with authentication flows — OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and tools like Keycloak · Experience with Git version control, GitLab, and CI/CD practices · Exposure to cloud platforms — GCP, AWS, or Azure · Solid understanding of front-end performance optimization techniques Nice to Have · Experience with headless commerce platforms (e.g., commercetools) · Familiarity with containerization tools — Docker and Kubernetes · Experience with GitOps practices for version-controlled deployments · Exposure to Postman for API testing and collaboration · Familiarity with B2B commerce flows and enterprise-grade front-end implementations · Basic understanding of backend concepts (NestJS or similar) for better cross-team collaboration Key Soft Skills · Leadership: Ability to guide and grow a front-end team with confidence and clarity · Collaboration: Works closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams · Analytical Thinking: Diagnoses front-end performance issues and drives solutions independently · Communication: Clearly articulates technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders · Detail Orientation: High standards for code quality, UI precision, and testing · Continuous Learning: Stays current with front-end trends and proactively brings new ideas to the team
