Strong legal expertise. Strategic thinking. Real business impact.
At Softsich, we believe that a strong legal function does more than manage risks — it enables business growth, supports confident decisions, and builds a foundation for international expansion.
Softsich is a young and ambitious international product tech company that develops scalable B2B digital platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Legal Counsel to take ownership of legal operations, lead a legal team, and act as a trusted legal partner to business leadership.
This role combines strategic legal decision-making with hands-on expertise in commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and legal operations. You'll have the opportunity to influence key business decisions, improve legal processes, and support sustainable international growth.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Legal Strategy & Risk Management:
Own legal strategy execution, define contracting standards and risk appetite, and ensure effective legal support across assigned business areas.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across business operations.
Provide strategic and practical legal advice to senior management and cross-functional teams.
Commercial Contracts & Negotiations:
Oversee drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements with payment service providers (PSPs), vendors, and strategic partners.
Develop and maintain contracting standards, templates, and approval workflows.
Lead complex negotiations and ensure agreements balance commercial objectives with legal risk.
Regulatory & Corporate Legal Support:
Oversee international corporate structuring, entity incorporation, and ongoing corporate governance.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
Coordinate with external legal advisors, regulatory authorities, and business partners on complex legal matters and escalations.
Legal Team Leadership & Operations:
Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team, managing priorities, workload distribution, and performance.
Establish and improve legal workflows, contract management systems, and internal policies.
Drive proactive legal research, develop internal knowledge-sharing practices, and improve operational efficiency through measurable KPIs.
Employment & Business Legal Support:
Oversee employment-related legal matters, HR policies, and sensitive employee cases.
Manage legal disputes, claims, and escalations, including the development of dispute resolution strategies.
Oversee legal review of marketing materials and business communications to ensure regulatory compliance.
It's a match if you have:
5+ years of relevant legal experience, with strong expertise in corporate and commercial law.
Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including PSP, vendor, and partnership contracts.
Practical experience in international corporate structuring, entity incorporation, and corporate governance.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and legal risk management in international or regulated business environments.
Knowledge of employment and HR legal matters, including employment agreements, contractor arrangements, and internal policies.
Experience leading legal professionals, managing team performance, and coordinating legal workflows.
Ability to develop and improve legal processes, contract management systems, and internal policies.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior leadership.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance legal risks and business objectives.
Ability to independently manage complex legal matters, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of results.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law.
English — Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Nice to have:
Experience working in financial services, payment processing, or other highly regulated digital industries.
Experience managing external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
Qualified lawyer / attorney status.
What we offer:
Flexible schedule and remote format or offices in Warsaw/Kyiv — you choose.
24 paid vacation days, sick leaves, and health insurance (UA-based, other locations in progress).
A supportive, friendly team where knowledge-sharing is part of the culture.
Coverage for professional events and learning.
Birthday greetings, team buildings, and warm human connection beyond work.
Zero joules of energy to the aggressor state, its affiliated businesses, or partners.
Ready to turn complex legal challenges into clear, practical solutions?
Join Softsich and help build a legal function that supports business growth, empowers teams, and makes a real impact.
